Searching for perfect neck knife

I got hooked on neck knives about 6 months ago and now they're my main carry.
Since the neck carry is (as I see it)primarily for self defense, I carry only micarta (resin & fiber) type knives in kydex sheaths.
They're `inexpensive', really light and an easy way to get into neck carry...
One day I hope to get a ceramic neck knife like the MAD DOG, but for now, they're too expensive.

I know virtually nothing about neck knives. Are they designed specifically designed for this purpose or are they simply adaptations?

I'm trying to envision a blade with a grip large enough to provide some "leverage" without being too obtrusive. I gather they are sheathed and suspended from the neck by a lanyard of some sort.

Where can I go look at some on the net?

Thanks,

Jack

Jack,

Most neck knives are 7" overall length and under. Blades are 3.5" (max) and under. The mission MPU in the Bladeforum store is a good example of a neck knife, without a handle scales. Some do come with thin handle scales, e.g. micarta, G10. Some folks will wrap parachute cord on the handle themselves for more grip and comfort. Generally the knife is kept thin to minimize a "print" under the shirt.
