Searching for Survival knife

I would have to say do a little research regarding what you can carry in the military. In some units there are restrictions about blade length for fixed blades. Try pm'ing some members like Rock6 who is a soldier and active member of BF, he might be able to provide good advice and has one of the biggest knife collections I know of.

A1 and RC-6 are great knives, but a 7" blade may be too big for professional use, albeit great for camping. The RC-4 and S1 are more versatile sizes and will still do everything you need a survival knife to do. Also check out bark river - bravo1.

RAT RC-6 is the way to go. They're great knives and RAT Cutlery is good to help out servicemen and women. Definately go talk to Jeff and Mike (I don't think they'll be back until after the 9th of this month...but you never know!)

Just want to say to the original poster, that I support Israel, and may God bless you and keep you safe. Oh, and to stay on topic, I dig the RAT.:D

Keep your gun clean and your head low soldier, the IDF is one tough army.

Fallkniven F1 or BRKT Bravo-1. Both are excellent knives that will hold up under tough conditions. I have and use both.

Nevermind that Israel broke the ceasefire in early November by conducting a raid into Gaza that resulted in 6 deaths. You should probably leave politics out of knife discussions.

...Anyway, I would go with the RC-4.

What is it about refraining from political posts that is so hard to understand?

We? lol, leave the politics if your dont know what your talking about
(in november they still bombed as -_- in 8 november's in case)

btw guys im thinking to buy the israeli dustar-knife becuse the artical on tactical knife july 2006

EliranD.

Are you wanting to be banned? If so, I can help you with that. I would rather not, but will if you make one more political post in this knife discussion forum.
We have a political forum here, this forum is not the place.

I suggest you listen and read the rules of this forum should you wish to remain.

cant we just chalk the whole thing up to a bombs and bullets he says she says?

plz dont provoke the moderators,

if its not mentioned it is probably for a reason.

Do yourself a favor and get the RAT-6 it will serve you well, the knife is built for exactly the type of situations you may encounter as a soldier.

Oo im soory i didnt sew ur post Moderator im soory

and ok i will buy my self a Rat 6
I hope it will serve me well.

I personally like, smaller, lighter knives. Unless you think you'll be chopping a lot of wood, the lighter knife will serve you just as well but not weigh you down nearly as much. It all adds up. My suggestion would be a Doug Ritter RSK Mk3.

My second choice would be a Fallkniven S1 with a RAT RC-4 right behind it. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Just in case you're still thinking of it, I wouldn't recommend a knife with D2 steel for a survival knife... strictly combat, ok... survival, not preferable.

The RC6 will certainly perform well, as will any of Fallkniven's offerings. You can't go wrong either way.

Check out some of the knives from Bark River. They have a wide variety of sizes and styles that are made very well.

If you can't go Busse or Swamp Rat(over $200.00), then I would get a Scrap Yard. The others listed above are good knives. If your suvival is at stake, spend the extra money and get a Busse. You won't regret it!
