Seb backspacer conversion!

I like that ...very cool! I'll take one for sure. Excellent Piter!

I like it but I have two suggestions. First, why not crown the "lanyard lug" so it matches the screw heads? Second, you could bore out the lug and chamfer it then still use a lanyard although it may be a tight fit.

Chris Reeve makes the "lanyard lug", so you would have to ask him about that.

As for the second, you could use a piece of tubing.

Piter, what keeps the lanyard lug from falling out? Is it pinned into the backspacer?

Looks nice!

Piter,
So have I, for a long time thought of a spacer/impact piece, but never got around to it. Yours looks super!
What material is it?

Thats a real nice looking mod there

I like the style of the spacers you do with the "spinal cord" look to them,
the Spyderco Military back spacer you did was similar and also looked great :)

Thanks everyone for your kind words! Too bad I don't have enough time to make them for you my friends. It's all hand made, no CNC here. I just don't have CNC mill around :/

It's made of Titanium (of course) and the pin has been drilled through, tapered and than I connected pin & backspacer with stainless screw + a bit of epoxy. Than I cut & ground the screw so it's in line with the inside of the backspacer (there is a lighter "spot" visible in the picture). This is very solid construction.

Tubing could be a solution but I can see 2 potencial problems:
a) fitting the tubing in the backspacer (can't use the same method of course)
b) inside diameter would be quite small

But... I have one more idea to try. Stay tuned :D

Yours is just too pretty, I must make one. Think in steel and a tad more length on one lug for impacting:confused:

for "very impacting" I did some for Emerson and this could be implemented:

I like this mod ! You know, as an impact device, could the butt be more pointed for shattering glass windows ? This should start a trend as to the applicability of the conversion, I think.

First photo is exactly what I had in mind !!
