Sebbie market -- what happened to resale?

Marcangel, I'm sorry I missed your phone call. I was on the road, in San Francisco at a show. Most folks wouldn't have made the call. You deserve respect for that.

You say you apologize for "tone" but not content. Well, the problem was the content. Not your opinions or beliefs. You're entitled to express them as much as anyone else, in whichever "tone" you wish to use. (The "rectum reference" applies there as well.) I'll accept your apology but I'm going to explain my position.

My problem was with your naming me, specifically, as someone with whom anyone would be stupid to do business. THAT'S where the line was crossed, as far as I'm concerned. You know nothing about me and had no basis for making such a charge. When faced with that kind of libel, I am definitely going to react. I must.

Any dealer will tell you that our most valuable, and vulnerable, asset is our good reputation. Without that, no matter what pricing scheme we use or how much inventory we carry, we will not survive in any market. When that reputation is impugned, it must be defended. YOU may think it makes no difference dealing with a reputable merchant but many people do and, while I don't do business here on BladeForums, word gets around. If such a charge is allowed to stand without some kind of response or defense, the damage could be significant. Frankly, in todays tough market, I can do without the handicap. Thats not petulance, just plain old survival.

I'm certainly no schoolboy but I absolutely was "calling you out". I prefer to handle such confrontations face to face or, at least, one on one. Resolution usually comes quicker and lasts longer that way. It's to your credit that you responded the way you did.

You seem to know your way around San Diego. The Del is a bit out of my league but, if you can find your way out there, you can find the way to La Mesa....10:30am - 6pm Tues. thru Sat.

PS: You think my "dissertation" was long winded? :) That wasn't long winded! You should have read some of my earlier posts when I was more active on the forums...THOSE were long winded. (Too much time on the podium I guess.)

Peace!

(Thanks Jonathan, Elvis, Wray... 'preciate the kind words.) :)

It's call Product life cycle: Introduction, Growth, Maturity, and Decline. With that said, I personally think the growth rate for Sebenza is over. Sebenzais has been around for a while with no new improvement. It has now reached its maturity stage, and that is why demand has leveled off and the secondary market flooded.

CRK cannot rest on its laurel just because they have a few winning products. The only way for CRK to gain that competitive edge - no pun intended -is to bring new and innovative design to the market. Times change...consumer demand changes! Look what happend to Polaroid.

Done deal! Peace be with you, Dennis. I shouldn't have referred to "you" specifically. As I said, crappy grammar on my part. My brother is in retail, and after re-reading the post it does look like I was personally slamming you and your customers, and I didn't mean to. I HAVE looked at some of your other posts, after the fact. So I ain't gonna disagree with the your last comment,;) ! BTW- We may have mutual friends who "work up the road" from the Del!:D

As one of Dennis Wright's customers, I can say that he is honest, very knowledgable about knives, and a good man to do business with. I would recommend Dennis Wright to anyone looking to buy quality knives.
