Sebenza 21 and Magnacut?

One of my 21s has a late lockup, will that be fixed with a blade swap to Magnacut?

Your comment touches on something I thought of earlier jjg6319 jjg6319
On the 31, the blade and the stop pin have a matching HRC.
This is not the case on the 21.
However, now that we can get a Magnacut blade on our 21s does anyone know if CRK also change the stop pin?

If I remember correctly the shouldered stop pin in the 31 is hardened to the low 40's HRC. Perhaps 42? It's 416 stainless.

I have had the new stop pins of the 31s installed on all of my user 21s

I might have to write to the mothership...

The lockup in question

That lockup is perfect IMO. I prefer later lockup myself. If it hasn't moved since 2013 you should be good for at least another decade or two. They usually dont move much once broken in unless they get used as fidget toys all day, everyday. The new blade usually will not lockup in the same place as the old one from what I've seen but it varies a tiny bit. I have a small that had 80% lockup and got a new blade and the new blade was about 50%. The seb I just picked up that was made in 2009 has even later lockup that this one you posted and I'm fine with it.

Do you just contact them and ask for a magnacut replacement for the 21? And do you pay for the blade ahead of time or wait until it’s ready?
Just email them and they’ll get the ball rolling for you. Just need basic info from you, name, address phone number. They also ask what thumbstud configuration you’d like. You pay when it’s ready.

Good to know! I’ll get that started! Have a large 21 would like to get a MC DP blade for. Thanks!
