Sebenza 21 issue

Well there is side to side blade play but no all the screws are tight, I’m sending it in, I’ve never had a Sebenza with this issue. It’s side to side play while the lock is disengaged and the blade is against the stop pin which is how Tim says to check for play
Yeah that’s one of the issues I’m sending it in for, the other is that pivot lash I was talking about in the video I sent and sometimes it’s bad enough to where you’ll hear a tick sound

It’s completely normal. It’s present on the inkosi too. I learned the hard way!!

I sent my first CRK, the inkosi, back to the factory when I discovered this. I thought I must’ve had a defective knife. I ordered one right off of DLT trading to replace the one I’d sent away. Exact same thing. Called CRK. They told me it was normal. Returned the knife to DLT. Felt like a moron. USPS then lost my inkosi. Filed a claim. Got my money. Ordered ANOTHER ONE from DLT.

Honestly imho it's normal , I'd call before sending it off.
Wow! Haha sounds like a nightmare but I’ve had other sebenzas where this wasn’t present on so I’m still sending it in for that and the side to side blade play

Yeah but the blade play is not normal that must be a washer issue but I’m having every internal component replaced to be sure, they treat you really well when you send it in
Yeah I see what you’re saying but on other sebenzas I’ve had it was non existent and sometimes it’s so bad that you can hear it. My hinderers don’t have it but they also font have a pivot bushing. Still I’m going to send it in for the blade play when the lock is disengaged at least because that is definitely something that isn’t supposed to happenThat play NEEDS to be there, how else would the bushing(or pin in other blades) be able fit through the blade?
This play is more or less present in all knives with a pivot, but you'll only feel it once you disengage the lock and free the blade up.

Ive heard some people call it pivot lash if you deploy the blade halfway through its arc and if you grab the spine of the blade while holding the handle simultaneously and push and pull towards the pivot and you feel movement or a hitch/playThat play NEEDS to be there, how else would the bushing(or pin in other blades) be able fit through the blade?

Yes that’s what it’s called and a small amount is normal as a poster above said the hole in the blade has to be larger than the pivot. Anyway the side play definitely shouldn’t be there so it’s good you are sending it in.
Yeah so I figure a spa is good I just wanted to see what you guys thought, very helpful thanks everyone!

there really shouldn't be any side/side blade play, I'm thinking the washers are your problem! the two 21 I have owned never had any blade play what so ever, I think to have these wahers replaced you must send it back to CRK's, please let us no how things turn out.

yeah that’s probably the issue, I’m also having the pivot screw and pin replaced because for some reason I can’t tighten the pivot all the way down snug like usual

No problem. If there’s side play then definitely something has tweaked and spa is the way to go.
Do you know what would cause not being able to tighten the pivot down snug using just 1 wrench? At the moment I have to use 2 wrenches

Did you try to move that body pin to a different location?
It could be that the body pin is now being used for the pivot, but they’re all identical so that shouldn’t matter?
