SEBENZA 25 LOTTERY? Are you excited.

I threw my name in the hat before I knew what the price would be.

If I win I'll sell anyone my chance for $5:p

$2500 is beyond insane...

Good luck to those participating, the odds probably aren't that bad:D

I understand that they are protos and are very limited. I think it would have been cool for CRK to sell them off at $410 (lottery style). That would have bee a nice way to thank the customer base rather than taking advantage of the situation.

$2500? I guess I could understand that if the graphics were incredibly unique and aesthetically pleasing. The graphics on the proto-types are way too ugly for my tastes even at $400 let alone $2500. If you're a hardcore collector, then I guess the ugly graphics and price tag probably won't hold you back. In my opinion, the proto-type 25s are the most aesthetically displeasing and expensive folders that I've seen.

For $2500 I would expect there to be at least a diamond or something special.

In my mind's eye, I thought the "25" would have been something like the 21st Anniversary knife. Rare Damascus, special inlays, etc. I would have paid the money for that perhaps. But not this. It will no doubt be an exceptional knife, but that just doesn't make sense.

Totally agree with you.
I love to have the proto but with the price, I have already past my chance of putting my name in the hat. Didn't expect that price, I thought it should be around a grand is reasonable.

Yeah, too steep for me... I did however put in my order for the plain jane 25... Heather said she wasnt exactly sure when those would be available, but 6 months was the approximate timeline.

25 years, 25 signed pieces, 25 hundreds... well, in fact it makes perfect sense to me. It's a special collector's item, not EDC. The're all gone anyway. I'd be really halpy to own one but it's a bit too much for me at this time...

As Chris might say himself... It is what it is mate!
I love CRK knives. I have many, and will have many more. But $2500??? I had the option to buy at the Blade Show. But no friggin way!

True collectors wont even bat an eye at 2500. People that collect will find the money and squirel away another rarity. I have collected many things over the years. H&K firearms being the most crazy. I would drive 36 hours, cash in CDs and miss work to procure the rarest of the rare. To those that get the Sebenzas, enjoy! To those that snub you because they cant 1. Afford it 2. Get permission from the wife 3. Or just truly dont want one, there will be something more expensive and even more rare to attack shortly :-)

I'm not really digging the graphic but I did call yesterday and get my name on the list for the plain:thumbup: To rich for my poor constuction worker blood anyway:eek:

I don't think you would ever see a return on that investment, I will get one in 6 months when the prices have settled

I saw the ones at Blade and I have been a die-hard CRK collector for over a decade and quite the Sebenza enthusiast. After experiencing disappointment seeing the "more of the same" 25 in person, I can't imagine anyone shelling out 2500 American credits on one. But that's just me.

Just got word from Heather that I'm number 5!

Paid today and its on the way to me.
