And here is my dog admiring the sebenzas (or at least she was until she heard a noise in the next room):

Rick -- Nice looking dog. Did her get an answer?

John -- Yes, I am excited to hear which one you chose. I fell into both of mine used and at the time I got the old style, I didn't even realize there was a new style. You can't lose!

John,

There's a bunch of stuff over in the Chris Reeve Forum. Just go there, do a search for Classic and enjoy!

I THINK I have decided to go with a regular Sebbie right this minute. I might change my mind tomorrow, but as of right now, I will be buying a regular in about 2 weeks. Thanks again to everyone who posted on this topic.

John,
You picked the right one.

I just ordered a Small Plain Sebenza also. After staring at the "side by side" pictures for a LONG time, I realized that the somewhat "elliptcal" shape of the blade on the "Plain" reminded me of the beautiful lines of a Spitfire wing. I was in love! Mine should be here by tuesday. It's exciting!

stjames,
Thank you very much for the picture you posted on 04-04-01. I am new to this forum and new to computers, to be perfectly honest I feel lost on both. I am learning though but it seems to be slow. (ha-ha) I somehow found your unofficial FAQ list and printed it. That has been very helpful. I posted a reply but can't seem to find it for now , so I'll try again.

I have never really paid any attention to Sebenza's. I was talking w/ J. Puckett the other day and he 'turned me on to them. Since then I have been trying to do some research. Finding your list and pictures has been very helpful..... I do have one PROBLEM w/ the pictures though.

After seeing those two knives against that blue background today ,it was decided at first sight.......I MUST HAVE ONE!!!!!!

Since your picture was responsible for this , do you make personal loans?????

Seriously, thank you for your posts.

I do have one question, because I want to be sure. Which knife is which and what size are they?

Thank you for any help you can give me on this, you seem to know what you are talking about. Not to say that others don't, anyone can feel free to reply.

Sincerely,

Teacher, I told you that all the talk about them here made me have to get one, and now you have got the Sebbie bug.

John,
I got to be honest w/ you. That day we talked I first thought you had a pretty good head on you shoulders, even when you talked about the Sebbie. But when you told me the price of one I started looking around to see if the men in the little white jackets were sneaking up on us. They were not.........So I came home and started following up on those web sites you gave me(this being one of them). Thanks, when I saw those pictures by stjames the 'bug' bit hard.
Have a great day John, looking forward to talking w/ you again.

teacher, I had to check back, I think you are referring to this post http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum29/HTML/000982.html on the CRK forum.

The top knife is a large unique decorated, the first Sebenza I ever bought. I loved the design so much I sent the picture to Anne at Chris Reeve Knives, asking if they could do something with a similar scheme on a small Sebenza. She told me they would see what they could do.

The middle knife is what they came up with; it is a hand done design. Chris and Anne decided that it was a good representation for one of the many styles they do the decorations in, and decided to base the “Line Drive” Computer Generated Graphic design on it.

The bottom knife is an Umfaan, with the standard 1998 “Zig-Zag” design done with a blue anodization. I got it as a companion to the Blue Circles Umfaan I have.

Sorry, can't help you with a loan, I had to face Uncle Sam today

Teach, the Sebenza on the top is a large classic and the one on the bottom is a large regular. as I said before I am getting one like the one on the bottom(the regular one).

John and stjames,
Thanks for both your replies. I just wanted to make sure. Ya'll have a good day, I'll let you know when I decide. Thanks for your help.

I think I will be leaning toward the regular.
Got to do some research to see blade lengths of large / small. Thanks again...............
