I can't decide. I have no idea what these are like as i have never held one of these in person.

I am currently looking at a small sebbie or the Strider spearpoint SNG.

They are comparably priced. So tell me which one should I get and why?

This is a February question.
Popcorn is better with a nice fire.
But I could probably fire up a brewsky and still sit back and enjoy this.

I recently had to make the same decision. My choice... the Hinderer XM-18. I hate to throw a wrench into the works, but I would seriously look at the XM-18.

Its a good choice but in this hyped market, it might be difficult to get one. XM 18 Third Gens are going for around $550 plus or minus. Gen 1 and 2's up to a grand or more depending on the blade.

Re Strider vs CRK - I have both and use both. Small seb is great for pocket carry and is a tough little knife. SnG is a bit bigger and fits my hand better but is still on the small side. Large Seb vs SMF is a more equal size knife comparison.

Both makers have a bullet proof warranty too.

bottom line - its a toss up, buy them both you won't regret it.

Buy a Sebenza, not only are Sebenza's a lot better looking but the owner of Strider knives is full of it.

I don't think this is really helpful advice since he's not even taking orders for it anymore and if you get on a waiting list at a reseller the wait is over a year.

Ok, since this has been debated for about 4 years, and the knife world seems to be moving away from the "tacticals", let say that this isn't trolling. I've owned both, and can honestly say I would buy neither again. Too overpriced for what they are. Now, back in the day they were the standards, but the production world has caught up with them, and many a 100.00 knife is just as tough, and nice. IMHO of course.

They are not comparably priced. The SNG costs like $70 more.

I found a slightly used SNG for $300. I just saw a new sebenza for $280. Both were in similar condition.

Hey i was just asking a question guys, no need to be rude.

FYI the search function is disabled on this site unless you pay a $10. fee.

I personally don't care for either. That said. They have the same steel and the same lock, so it's really just a matter of taste.

The Sebenza has smoother blade action/lock up where the Strider has the edge as a very hard use knife. My two hard use knives are an XM-18 and an SMF. I sold all of my Sebs as I hated to see the bead blasted scales scratched. The Hinderer and Strider are stonewashed and don't show the marks like a Seb. If you don't mind the scratches on the Seb's scales, which some gents don't, then either will serve you nicely.

It's a matter of personal taste. If I could only choose one I'd prefer my one knife to be uber tough, so I'm in favor of the Striders.

sebenza...i don't support mick strider in any way...why you might ask? because he is a proven liar and has disrespected all who have died and served for this country...if you don't know what im taking about pay the 10 bucks and do a search because i don't feel like explaining the whole thing

Information on this has been around so long I am surprised anyone is still unaware of it.

Go to Google or Yahoo. Search for what you need followed by site:Bladeforums.com and you will get pages of references.

I think I'd be incline to agree with you, as I've yet to really see how either is that much better than many productions out on the market these days.

And while you'll see members like T.K.C. state that she's had both but only still has Sebenzas, I can say that my experiences have been far more positive with Striders to this point than with Sebenzas(and my EDC for the past 2+years has been a Seb), so all you really have is opinions based on our own experiences. I'd say buy the Seb if you're looking for a less offensive EDC that goes pretty much anywhere without attracting attention, but if you're intentions are to put it to genuinely hard use where the warranty might be used, I'd go for the Strider.
...And keep a Spydie on hand for when you don't really want to see how far that warranty will take you...:D
