Sebenza style knives, can anyone recommend one or two.

Still prefer the Bradley.............not a person that has to have "the best". I'm happy with the "Oldsmobile, as opposed to the "Cadillac". I'd rather have a quality knife that I'm not afraid to use, & use hard, than a "safe queen" I'm afraid I'm going to loose, or beat up. Just my opinion, to each his own. I plan to buy two because I liked them so much, period!!

p.s.- Two of the Bradley Alias I's were still cheaper than one Sebenza of comparable size. :)
Also, just for clarity.........I'm not trying to rile anyone here. Just stating my own opinions. If I had the income to afford a "Sebenza", and the "need" for one, it would be the first knife I'd buy. Don't have the "need", or the $$$.

FWIW, on the sites I'm familiar with two Alias I's are more (within a sixpack and a pizza) than one large plain Sebenza. Hey, if ya love 'em you love 'em, nothing wrong with that. Just don't confuse "can't afford" with "won't spend". For some of us $300 would be a fantastic deal on a Sebenza but $200 is way too much for a Benchmade. Guess it's just in the way ya look at things.

To me........."Can't afford" & "Won't spend" ARE the same thing. :)

But does the Bradley come in left hand models?

This thread's also got me interested in picking up a Bradley, and I'd also like to know about left handed use.

My guess is that the thumb stud can be unscrewed and placed on the other side of the blade.

But I'd like to hear from someone who knows for sure...

I'm intrigued by the thinking that the Sebenza is too much. Yet all I have to do is look in American driveways and see vehicles twice as much as needed.

Next car you buy - delete A/C, cruise, auto, stereo and aluminum wheels. Bet you could buy a Sebenza then, and still have it when that car is run into a crusher.

As for worrying about beating up a great knife, well, use the tool, don't abuse it. Knives cut - they don't pry, make good screwdrivers, or handle abrasives well. There are other tools for that job, use them, buy good ones, too.

It's OK to think a $25 knife will do all you need - and it will. But please, don't come up with lame excuses in this SUV cell phone talking broadband internet mall store clothing world. I can't afford them either, but I have them - '90 Cherokee, Tracphone, Basic DSL, and DAV resell store. Picked up a pair of $85 Merrell low hikers today, 4.95. And I'm looking for a Sebenza, to go with my Buck Mayo TNT and Strider SnG.

You CAN afford it, improvise and overcome.

:jerkit:

Thanks for the economics lesson, Professor.

The thumb stud on the Bradley CANNOT be switched to the other side for leftys unfortunately.I did call the company to ask about the possibility of a lefty model, they said maybe in the future. So who knows.

All great ideas, thanks guys.
..........
My budget is around $70-100, looking for a light carry GP knife.

The Sebenza just caught my eye with its simple lines, style of blade and appearent thinness.

Decisions, decisions, decisions.....I swear, I have the same problem when I go on a beer run. I cannot decide on Rogue Dead Guy Ale, Sam Adams Black Lager, or some new stout!

I am like a woman sometimes, cannot make a decision!!
:D

Col. Cooper,
Here is a thought... :D ......
.........cut out the "beer runs" for a while and you can get that Sebbie with no problems.
It'll last you a life time & you'll have something for your hard earned $$$ as rather than just literally just "pissing" your purchase away......:D

Please take this in the light hearted way it was intended ......

Seriously, if you can ........ spring for the Sebbie .....I don't think you would ever regret it. They are great knives ..... for many of the reasons that "caught your eye" in the first place.

Keep an open eye in the sale forum...... many times you can get one for a steal if you just be patient.

Next in line would be the Bradley Alias........ you can get then NIB for under $175.

Next would be the Benchmade Mini Skirmish. You can get then at a good price also if you check around.
{ OOOPs, I think I said RUKUS in an earlier post...... my bad, I meant SKIRMISH.... sorry. }

Anyway.... good luck .........

Let us know what you end up with........... :)
