Sebenza washers, non OEM

A dial caliper is only good to +-0.001. If you want to measure to tenths then you need a good micrometer like a Starrett 221.

Ok guys, I'll take some measurements next time I take a 21 down. Thanx for the help so far,

I think the key is to just do a *very* little bit at a time. Sand a little. Test. Sand a little more. Test. Etc.

Just like CRK does it.

I just got my 31 about where I want it after four rounds of the above. Much better than the custom CRK hand fitment, if I do say so myself.

It’s not the tolerances of the knife itself, it’s the pivot design that‘s different. Just clarifying so you’re not confused is all. I hope you get the washers you “need”.

I know how the different pivots work, but thanx.

But it would be nice to know the mm/inch where they started at wouldn't it?

I can tell you that mine were 0.42mm thick when I got the knife. But I haven't measured the outside or hole diameters.

Although a bit dated, here's part two of the doc featuring Sebenza assembly, etc.

No company is going to sell you a part that will end with your knife having non stock tolerances thus voiding the warranty. Do you think Shiragorov would send parts to an end user in the US?

You could send CRK they knife and ask for 2 sets of washers. That should last you the rest of your life and you could leave it to your children.

If I ever send it in, I will do just that. Good idea!

So no other knife company sends out washers?

It's a pocket knife not a spaceship. I'm also confused that if the knife is made with extremely high precision (by machines), doesn't it mean parts should be interchangeable among knives of the same model without any fitting issues? Or is every Sebenza hand-made?

Measure the current washers for it with a micrometer/calipers and pick up a set of PB washers online. Some fine sandpaper and frequent measuring with a micrometer should get you what you need. It's not rocket science.

Remember to apply light even pressure while rubbing them against the sand paper.
