Sebenza worth it?

These knives pretty much sell themselves I'm starting to think. So much work goes into each one! If you watch this through (without letting the host frustrate you)..... you might start to understand the price tag.

I don't think anyone can view the amount of effort that goes into making each knife, and still question the price. Its all there. As you watch the knife being made, keep a running tally in your mind of the following:

Materials used (blade steel, titanium, fasteners, stud, washers, etc.
Labour used (every step of the way)
Electricity used in machining process. (they don't even show the heat treat)
Factory consumables (belts, stones, cutting dies, cutting fluid)
Factory costs (heat, light, land taxes)
Administration of company
Shipping to dealers
Profit for CRK (to keep life interesting)
Profit for dealers (to make it worthwhile to stock CRK and deal with OCD knife people)
Contingency for warranty returns
Packaging extras (Allen wrenches, cloth, stickers, birth card)

After considering all these things, you will start to marvel that these knives are so inepensive for what they are.

^^^
Also non direct labor costs such as health ins, 401K matching(all of which can almost double the cost of labor)
Taxes on profits
You are correct all these things really add up. He has a lot of time & money invested in this company and there should be some return on that.

Capital costs
Production equipment break-downs
Modernizations
Business Insurance
Research and development
Website and marketing

It goes on and on. These knives are fairly priced. It means a lot too me as well when Lisa says "Chris and Anne are good employers" in the YouTube vid. I would rather by a knife from people with morals.

Thanks for posting the link to that video. Makes me appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into a product like this. Haven't pulled the trigger on one yet, but that might push me over the edge.

I agree with everything you said Cody, except the website. They didn't spend any money on that!

Touché Justin. I suppose I agree with you it's a pretty humble affair. I like that though. A little more "Ma and Pa" than many maker's sites.
