Sebenza ?

Through hundreds of knives, if I look at the ones from the high end production companies like Spyderco, the defect rates I have seen are inconsequential, and people do have problems with Sebenza's just like they do with all knives.

You also can't just go by number of forum comments, consider sales volume, look at the number of knives Spyderco sells and consider how this would relate to the number of problems reported even if the QC was higher than Reeve.

Why are people not impressed, because for some issues like NIB sharpness, cutting ability, edge retention, handle ergonomics and security, toughness, lock strength/security are what are used to judge a knife and these can easily be matched and/or exceeded in a much cheaper knife.

Back to the central issue with this thread. The "better or worse," and "more or less value," are both soooooo subjective.

I sold my Sebenza. Why? I found it boring when compared to my AFCK, my 710HS, and my 940TI.

Now, that said, it was an exceptional piece of equipment. Well made, strong, solid, add additional adjectives.

But, it was boring.

That's the answer to any of these threads, comparing knives that are all up to normal working requirements. As a friend of mine once wrote: "Objectivity is too subjective to be a reasonable goal." :D
