Hey there all,
Has anyone else in the forum heard anything about this? It is a rumour going round goverment employees is the UK; basically that the UK group of goverments is considering leaving the European Union, or reduce it's member status and become either a protectorate of the US of A, or a State within the US... I rather like the idea, I should say. Has anyone had a whisper or have an opinion on this?
(Obligatory khurkuri kontent): I'm waiting on a delivery of a HI Sirupati, and have made a goof-up of getting the payment to Uncle Bill. He still likes me. That is what a good guy he is.

Wishful thinking maybe? I suppose if the UK did leave the EU it would have to align itself with the US...but a state? I personally feel that the US in recent years has treated the world as a protectorate.maybe we should start offering colony status! seriously though...the EU is an economic powerhouse that will make life difficult for unaffiliated nations.I wonder where this trend is heading?

Hi Dave ,I`m all in favour of Great Britain getting out of the E.U. and the sooner the better. But for the life of me I can`t see why a nation of sixty million people would need to be a protectorate of anyone else . Canada has half that amount and is independent right next door to the Elephant . If you want to discuss this more send me your email address through Uncle Bill or whatever. There are a number of groups trying to get Britain out of the E.U. before it`s too late and 1000 years of sovereignty is thrown away by traitors. Obligatory kukri content; you may be needing some of Uncle Bill`s products when the E.U. police begin enforcing Napoleonic law (i.e. you have to prove your innocence).Cheers,Mark

Hi Mark,
"Why should sixty million people?" Because we have been betrayed and cheated consistently of the constitution and laws created after the revolution. Even historians call the period after the revolution the "interegnumn" ie; the 'Reign' of the Lord Protector and his son 'Tumble Down Dick'... Constitutionally, nothing happened in law or justice during the period, nothing counts. The US, however, has a constitution closer to any other to the one the Parlimentarians created. The conflict created the US and Canada. I reckon it's a good thang.

Also, I'm not even going to start talking about the Winchester Convention in 1485, which gave every free man the right to bear arms! Oh, I have. Hmmm.

Now I come to think about it, I've got a bottle of Absinthe, "Green Fairy". It's only 70% alcohol, but also hallucogenic. Wanna come on over?
David (giggling)

Well, just a couple of comments; First, we'll take Scotland for sure, England if we have to. Ireland is chockablock with Irish, so could we leave that one there? Next, you guys have to start chilling your beer. That's mandatory. Lastly, if you want to be Americans you have to (and I know this is hard) stop making your hamburgers with other stuff in it like meatloaf. Oh, and no more of that left side driving stuff either. Nope. Well, that ought to do it. Welcome aboard! Watch out for the Canuks, they'll be awfy jealous.

heh

England, Scotland and Wales are too proud to join the U.S.A. -- not that they should or should not.

Sadly, I think the U.S.A. has lost some of spirit that would allow expansion (a welcoming of equals) beyond the present 50 states. I don't know if Puerto Rico really would like to be a state, but if they did they would probably have a uphill battle.

If Canada were to disintegrate due to Quebec leaving, I think the western provinces could make a good case to join, if so they so desired.

But again, I don't think the U.S.A. has the nerve anymore. Many years ago I read a great article about buying Siberia -- a really interesting idea, but obviously nothing will come of it.

During the few brief months I spent in Scotland I quickly became nostalgic for both my F-150 and my shotgun, neither of which were politically correct in Glasgow (or even available) as far as I could tell.

Oddly enough, it was there that I first realized how much I wanted a real khukuri. At the time, it was just a random thought on a random ride in the little orange subway, but obtaining a real battle-worthy khukuri became my first priority upon returning to the US. (I erroneously believed that one could never obtain such a thing in the UK.)

As far as the whole UK in the US thing goes, I would be in paradise if I could live in Northern Ireland or the Hebrides _and_ exercise my right to keep and bear arms as a free man.

I doubt that it will ever again be possible in those parts of the world, though, and we're losing it here too.

--Hey, and what's this line about the "UK group of governments"?

I thought _all_ _power_ came out of Westminster.

... a lot of things ... just a lot of things ... happened and going to happen ... around us! Political agendas ... economic agendas ... etc. etc. etc. A cry coming out from my mind ... What's going to happen to me? What's going to happen to my people? What's going to happen to my country? What's going to happen to everybody? What's going to happen to our world? Wa-(A)llaahu-aa'lam! Sometimes I think this Khukuri world is just like a small sanctuary for me (and for people like me I guess) to take a short break from all these worry!

NEPAL HO!

Hiya Dave K,
Phew, sober again (for a wee while!) There has been a big devolution movement in Britain in recent years, and Scotland and Wales now have (theoretically) independence from the evil English, seperate legistature and government. Yes you are right about the legality of the khurkri. It is illegal to possess an "edged weapon" in public, only exceptions being if it is a tool of a chosen trade, for military re-enactment or it has spiritual significance. If I ever get problems with the law I'm going to claim that I worship Kali, am a free-lance decapitation consultant, also that I am re-enacting the seige of Cawnpore in the time-horoured eccentric English fashion (ie, one man playing all the parts. Rather like Eddie Murphy in 'The Nutty Professor'). I'll make sure I tell you what English prison is like!

Hi Uncle Bill! You've got to laugh though, haven't you? Do you like my new signature? First time I've used it...

Hey Steve H!
What's the problem with Brit hamburgers? (Apart from the fact that the EU forces us to call them 'beefburgers', cos the things are made with ground beef, not ham!) As far as I know, they are the same as yours... Mind you, I only eat McDonalds or Burger King. I could just go a couple of Big Macs now. Why not grab a few, get concorde, and come over? We could share my absinthe ('La mirada se vuelve calida, el color bulle y la mano es conducida delicadamente por un angel'). Only 140 proof! Plus we could play with khurkuri's! What an offer! Who could refuse?
David

It seems like a wonderful idea. I think it would have an amazing stimulating effect on all concerned. Alas I don't think it could happen. In the old US of A the entrenched political interests would be too threatened by the shift in political power and interests. For example, our major minorities wouldn't tolerate becoming minor minorities.
