Second Spyderco???

Hey everyone,

I have often found myself on this site reading all kinds of awesome advice and finally decided it would just be best to make a profile!

My first question as a new member is what you think my next Spyderco knife should be... I have had a brown FRN Delica 4 FFG for about 3 months now and I absolutely love it. I take it every where I go and it has yet to disappoint me. Even though I'm crazy about the knife, all I can think about is getting my next one. I probably wouldnt go much bigger than the Delica (seems to fit my EDC roles just fine) and I tend to like smaller knives anyway. I was looking at one of the Ladybug 3s or the Dragonfly 2. I'm sure this topic has been beat to death but I would really appreciate any input you would have on why you think one blade would be better than the other, and who knows maybe you even have a different blade you would recommend! Side note: I REALLY like the look of the Jester but as its discontinued, the price is a little steep so I dont think I'll be getting one

I think between the two I would lean towards the dragonfly because it seems to fill the hand better and I worry about the Ladybug being a little too small in the handle? Anyways I'll stop rambling and let you guys get to answering! Have an awesome night/day and I'll check back as soon as I can!

Don't go smaller, go slightly larger. Get a Spyderco Endura 4. If you like the Delica you will love the Endura (it will be like dating twins).

Ha yea I really like the look of the Stretch.. Is ZDP-189 worth the cost if Im kind of an amature at sharpening?

I have a ZDP Delica, it's harder than the VG10, retains its edge for longer, not too difficult to sharpen with the Sharpmaker, but it seems a bit more brittle than the VG10. I was whittling wood with it and managed to put a tiny chip in the blade already.

I'm a huge fan of the Delica. It was my gateway knife into the Spyderco world. It's fairly addictive, really. However, I've got a very big spot in my heart for the Dragonfly 2. One can collect just Dragonflies, they come in so many different variations, including G10 scales, tattoo scales, nishijin scales, and different color FRN scales, plus the different steels like ZDP-189, VG-10, and Super Blue. It's a great knife!

The Spyderco Cat is not quite as versatile as the Dragonfly, IMO. However, I've wanted one for a while now and got it as an anniversary present last night. Yay, me! Blade is slightly longer than that of the Dragonfly, and it comes with only 440C steel as an option (but that's a good steel, so no harm done). It's a liner lock, if you like that.

Let me also throw the Native into the mix. I'm very fond of it. I think I have maybe five of them laying around. My girlfriend borrows mine frequently. The blade is just slightly bigger than the Delica's. Good steel in them, too. S35VN on the most recent ones. I like my S30V ones.
