Secondary market right now is wild!

I’m a proud MK3 owner already. If you don’t have one jump on it! I was just trying to sell Kettleman Kettleman on it, lol!

It’s an incredible knife! Great fit n finish, very slim so carries wonderfully in the pocket and the action is amazing, you would think it’s on bearings!
LEAVE ME OUT OUT OF THIS!!!!!!! lalalalalalala I can't here you.......

I saw one unsold at $360 for new and unused, uncarried condition. I was sorely tempted, but there's too little money and too many knives right now, even for screaming deals like that.

Do you have any George’s? I have been buying knives for over 8 yrs but I’ve only been a member here a yr and started my George collection maybe 6 mos ago but it always blows me away on how many old school collectors have never given him a shot much less handled one. All I can say is you wouldn’t have regretted it and won’t even at $465.

Another thing I’ve noticed and briefly touched upon earlier is how magnacut seems to be driving down the prices on knives without magnacut in the secondary market. Is this normal for the new hot steel to do, or is it because magnacut is really that special and popular?

If you're only looking at hyped knives as an indication of the overall market, that won't be an accurate indication. Knives that are hot regularly fall out of favor and get replaced with something newer. It's not sustainable for a lot of these knives to trade at a couple hundred over retail when their value is already somewhat dubious. If the maker has ramped up production just as their knife is losing steam, you can end up with a lot of extra stock.

I think your spot on with this observation. I tend to try to balance the newest releases and competing against existing options that have been out for a while and they jockey back and forth on my list to purchase only recently have I been able to put off new releases and go to older models and there is quite a substantial difference in pricing. I think there definitely exists different markets between them, just never saw it that way.

I concur with the assessment 😁

I would definitely say Magnacut is pushing down S45vn AND M390 variants from brands.

Hinderer and CRK had been on such a high lately but the market has definitely cooled on those unless it's Magnacut.

I'm hoping it hits the SHF market next! 😂 of course I scored a God and Country NIB for a steal recently, so maybe it's here!

I've seen some SHF's going cheaper especially in S35vn on facebook and even a few here.

I know KnifeCenter just got a recent batch and usually the Plague Doctor always sold out quick but both the plain and damascus are still up.

And economists are telling us this seasons sales numbers are up however they are not saying that cost of goods are up 15-30% so it's easy to tout higher numbers in a very shady way. I decided to hold off selling for now till I see where this is going.
I've been mostly trading some that never see the light of day for new brands/styles that I've not yet experienced, makes the hunt a little more lively than just plunking down cash

Here at BF an indicator things may be getting tougher on folks in our segment in conjunction with lower prices and slower sales will be more common use G&S/PPFF (with the purchaser using a CC and eating the fee) instead of the cash apps, Zelle, etc.
