Secret spots ?

I'll share them with friends who can keep a secret. However, I have one outdoor pal who is a human broadcast system. In 20 yrs I haven't taken him to my 2 or 3 most favorite spots because I remember what happened the only time I made that mistake, many years ago.

It takes me a whole day to get to it. Driving, canoeing, portaging... but it's worth it. I just set up camp and live. Always solo.

This is a spot where whitetail deer like to come out of the woods to drink.

Forest sunset. When dark comes I sometimes hear wolves howl. And where there's wolves, there's moose. I have also seen bald eagles and signs of black bear.

I was at one of my secret spots this morning. ;)

Here’s a photo of the rock overhang with a small campfire.

And here’s a shot of the view to the northwest.

Aiko and Jake are the only ones who know the location,

…and they’re not talking.

I have a great little spot on the top of a hill overlooking the lake. It's not too far off the beaten track, but few people will want to climb the cliff to get up to it. The view is fantastic though :D

Fortunately, most of our "secret spots" are on our own land which borders a National Forest Service Wilderness Area consisting of more than 2-million acres.

This little spot, off a large creek (full of fish), can be a challenge to get to. Can't get the camp trailer back into it because of low headroom, but it is dandy for tent camping. It appears that only the Shoshone Tribes have camped here in the past. Absolutely pristine.
