I forgot my stainless steel coffee mug.

Dented coffee mug I should say

Looking at new makers works is the catalyst for making me want to try harder.

I know I can do better, and their work proves to me that it can be done.

Glass platen

Blaze, Gator, and scotchbrite belts

1x30 HF belt sander for sharpening, where the hell have you been all my life.

Gorilla tape - For kydex sheath work, nothing else will do.

My Coote grinder and it's TOOL REST. Without it, I am nothing.

For some reason I to want a very flat very heavy peice of rock.....

I got a huge marble cutting board for around $40. Worthless as a cutting board because its hard on edges. Great as a sanding surface. Only 3/4" thick though so it won't stay still from weight alone. I use the built in stone bench in my shower for wet sanding though lol. Set the water so it makes a slow little waterfall without splashes, take my shoes off, and sit on a stool.

Josh - add a j-flex belt in there and I'm right with you.

What do you do with the Gorilla tape on kydex?

Hey strider, I use it to tape up the blade before molding. I never liked masking tape. Any line or weird lump will show up in your finished product. The gorilla tape adds just enough space between the kydex and the blade to aid in retention and retraction. Kinda gives just the perfect amount of breathing room. Keeps scratches at a minimum too.

Man, that's a great idea. I've been trying to figure out a better way to wet sand inside during the winter.

I could not make a single knife without my 8"x4" blocck of hard rubber .I use one side to stick self adhesive sandpaper to and the other side to rub buffing compound onto for stropping etc,...

I tried out a friend's wet diamond band saw (used by her for stained glass cutting) today on a piece of G10 and it worked like a charm (I imagine it would also make short work of carbon fiber). This might be a future secret weapon.
