I am new here. I did not realize this was a privet run site, with a single owner. I figured this was just another corporate run site, which I rarely pay for, now that I know better, I will buy a subscription!

I have never gave it a second though about joining. the only thing that makes me mad is that I didn't know about the site sooner. I tell everyone about it too.
 
I wish that I had joined sooner as well. The paid membership is well worth the money even though I have never sold anything.
 
I have never tried to sell anything here but I have bought a couple of knifes and did on trade here. here there is good people and bad ones as well. but I think there is a heck of lot of the good ones here.
 
I just found this site last year and it quickly replaced my Facebook (deleted that POS excuse for social networking). This is where I come for information, support and good times.

Thanks for keeping it, and keeping it clean Spark.
 
Thanks A lot "Captain" Spark to not hand over the site, I am a newcomer in this site. But before joining your site I think myself maniac of steel blades, but now i could realise
that I am child regarding this matter!!! So many people passionate regarding blades, is amazing to me. I am from India, I congratulate you on behalf of all Indians for your wise decision.Thanks..
 
Thank-you Spark for the very altruistic decision, this is truly an online community for people all over the world and a brilliant source of knowledge on all types of blades and everything associated with them.

I'm from Australia, and along with Australianbladeforums.com I'm very grateful for these sites, and even more so thanks to the community atmosphere and not having advertising shoved down my throat every-time I browse the forum.

Keep up the great work!

Also thank you for not selling out to corporate assholes. They own enough. They are trying to own all the food and water too. Its time we start to take it all back. One small step at a time. ;)

Not going to lie, was pretty worried upon just reading the thread title. Jerk. Certainly is nice to hear your position on the matter, and to know that this site (which has helped me to make informed decisions and enjoy the world of knives for years before I bothered posting) will remain true. I do hope that it is at least a somewhat profitable endeavour for you. I don't think anyone expects you to run a charity.

I don't have a big budget for Christmas due to overwhelming medical bills[brain tumor+lymphoma] .but the one thing I told my wife I really want is a BLADEFORUMS.COM patch.i will rock that patch daily to show my loyalty to this great site.

I hadn't noticed the lack of ads and banners til you mentioned it in the original post.
I had no idea there is a market for buyer and selling sites!
Anyways, kudos to you for showing such integrity.
 
I'm a new member here who's been lurking without an account for a long time! I've always appreciated how I've never gotten any pop ups or banners or any advertisement. And I know how expensive and how much memory can be used for running websites like this. Keep up the great work!
 
I've enjoyed this site for several years now and just want to say thank you for all that you do. I'm mostly just a lurker, but it still feels nice to be part of this community.
