Hi everyone,
new to the forums and first post!
I've enjoyed reading through these forums and would like opinions on my first knife purchase. (Sorry if this is long!) Opinions good or bad, sound off please!
So I decided to purchase a folder after a buddy of mine showed me his Kershaw Blackout. I figure my knife to be light to medium outdoor usage and for protection. (Travel frequently and going abroad soon)
These are the knives that I've looked at and considering.
1) Boker Infinity Ceramic - Initially thought this would be cool becuase of the unique blade material, and I've actually handled the knife. It feels great and is extremely light but after reading the forums here, I think the blade material needs some time to develop
2) Boker Jim Wagner Reality Based Knife - Big, heavy and mean looking. But probably going to stay away becuase not the knife for me, plus read a bad review here.
3) SOG Flash II (Aluminum Handle) - Surprised at the size (big) but great feel and amazingly light. Love the locking mechanism. Did notice some lateral play in the blade (display model), but when I looked at a new-in-box one, blade was smooth opening/locking and very little play.
4) Benchmade Osborne 940/943 - Like the weight and design of the blade. Handle feels great too.
I'm tossed between a single function blade and having one with a few features. Leaning towards the SOG or Benchmade. BTW, I think the Surefire Delta EW-04 would be the ultimate knife (put also the ultimate price! $425 USD average.)
Then I ran across this one:
http://www.eknifeworks.com/webapp/e...lt&Search.x=0&Search.y=0&Search=1&SKU=CT141BS
Blade, Harness Cutter and Window breaker. But can't really find any information about this knife/brand.
So sorry for the long post. Look forward to replies.
Thanks!
