Dark comments on the hemlock made me change to copperhead. This saddlebrown ain't bad.

Guess that’s all we can hope for. I just hope they don’t come out BLACK. I’m fine with any other color, but an almost all black handle would be far more boring than any other choice.

I’m hopeful. I’m also an eternal optimist. I’ll be happy with anything that doesn’t look like plastic.

There's going to be a lot of black. Black looks good on a Barlow, and black and red look good together. Somewhere under that will be some brownish mostly blackish center. Just a guess, it's not been done in sawcut before. Every single one will be unique. Some will have more color contast than others. Some might even be more black and caramel, others more black, red. The color it will be is the color you get in the mailbox. I'm crossing my fingers that mine has a lot of red.

Pàdruig , Dylan, thanks for the shout out and the good wishes. It was great fun. Congratulations to you and all of your cohorts. But you guys really should lay off the Hemlock juice.

My only disappointment was how poorly Miss Ginger Copperhead was treated by a few misogynistic Porch denizens. She is actually my fiancé and has absolutely no interest in knives. Her feelings were terribly hurt, especially when Brother Jim accused her of being digitally altered, and Unwise Fool said she was not all that pretty. (This is just me joking again Brother Jim and Unwise Fool! I continue to suggest you consider changing your name Mr. Fool.)

As for the Hemlock Barlow, it will be a cracker. Let’s hope Bill Howard goes way heavy on the RED and makes that sucker POP. Blood Red was my first preference as well, but I saw a little Black Cherry lurking in the shadows. I definitely prefer Hemlock to Black Cherry, so it was not a bad result for me.

I went 2/3 in the polls this year. Not bad for me. I think I got shut out in 2018 (and there were like 20 polls that year, right?) and may have gotten one right in 2019. Still pretty stoked that the best of the reds won out in the end.

Well, we didn’t get a regal, striking, deep red smooth bone, but we DID get a traditional sawcut in a dignified, elegant, deep brown with some reddish flame accents. I think, gentlemen and ladies, that this is going to be a sharp-looking knife!

And if I don’t miss my guess, it will be a color that gets more interesting with use and wear, the better to encourage everyone to put these beautiful knives in their pockets and use them as intended!

I agree 100 percent that these will likely get better with use!
