OK I want to hear what you oinkers think is the best Busse blade for self defense, WHY, and how you would carry it in an urban setting...

I think that the best Busse for self defense in an urban setting is the AD. You want to carry a blade that will be doing mostly EDC type work. The odds of you using your blade for self defense are very slim. The AD fits both of these bills with it's small size and aggresive ergonomics.

*This info is relevant only if you cannot get your hands on a MS.
*Yes, I took into account the PD.

i just got this sh1 that was modified for street fighting, i don't fight so i just carry it for self defense. it's a little heavy at times so i'm having jerry make a one on a s&w j frame now.

oh and i forgot, i'm having andrew make me a crossdraw front or reversable small of back carry rig for it.

ps: i find a 6lb mainspring works well with 200 grn gold dots because of the added weight.

Dammit Stinky! That's funny. Now I'm going to have to call Jerry... I'm going to have mine mounted on a .50AE.:D

Now that is what I call all business. You better wear some suspenders too, you might be spending more time pulling up your pants that fighting off offenders.

It's tough to find a holster that works with my loin cloth. As a result, I tend to just walk around, weapon at the ready...   :D

Nanook- just don't go flashing your "gun" ... that could be considered Trolling.

Right now my daily is an A2 MS, car is a ZT NO... patiently(?) awaiting word on the Tanker A...

Peter,

As a side note, you may know of another place you could ask this question where you might get a more serious and different response...;)

I like the Busse folding Kerambit!  It is the only
blade style that is based on a 300 year old martial art
system of self defense.

Bravado!!! Shhhhhhhhhhhhh. . . . . . !!!!!!

Man, if you keep this up, you're gonna have to send your proto Folding Kerambit back!!!

What's next? You gonna post pics???? ;)

I guess this is more acceptable than walking around with weapon in hand:rolleyes:   :)

WOW Stinky! That is so cool! Since my carry piece is an Officers ACP I guess a fat SHBA would be about right. The only thing is, I use the King/Tappan fixed combat sights rather than the adjustable.;)

Les..... Never mind, I can't even go there! The mental image alone is just too scary! 'Gun in hand' :D :D I get flashes of Full Metal Jacket and can't (won't) go any further.

Jerry,
You can have bravadoink send me that folding kerambit. I can guarantee it will never be seen or spoken of again.

Rob,
I am glad I am not the only one who had an FMJ related nightmare to Les's post! :D

Peter,
Yeah, I completely forgot!!:footinmou The Busse Combat forum is the WRONG place to post a serious question about Busse Combat knives. If you want to actually discuss Busse Combat knives you should ask this question somewhere else, (that you may or may not know of)!

So what are you guys trying to say? We aren't serious? :p

I am not trained to fight with a knife, nor would I know where to find such training in my area. If I had to describe my optimal knife for self defense purposes, it would be the one I was carrying at the time of need. That being said I favor the AD in warmer weather in a fairly high ride kydex rig of my own manufacture, with an additional folder or Assault Shaker hiding in a pocket somewhere. In colder weather I tend to wear several layers of clothing in colder temps, so I can get away with a SHBA or something of similar size. What ever is comfortable enough for you to carry all the time. If it is too cumbersome to carry, it won't do you any good on the day you decide to leave it at home. If it were a perfect world we could all walk around with Argonne Assaults strapped to our legs and then you would know you havd enough knife. :D

OK Peter,

To get serious for a moment (this is my rifle... this is my gun...) I carry a fatty SHBA in a Behind-The-Belt rig tha Dwayne and I cooked up. That rig is sooo comfortable and pulls the knife in so tight it doesn't even print under a tee shirt. Trying to get one to work for a NO, but for >5" blades this thing is better than sliced bread.:D

Rob

HMMMM... See that Pro likes those SHBA's also. Great minds think alike. But aren't they just the handiest knives ever fielded by Busse? My favorite by far.
