Sell me on a Strider

If you've ever met any Special Ops people, you'd notice that they're more likely carrying a Benchmade folder.

Not trying to derail the thread, but almost all the SF guys I`ve worked with (I issued gear to them), MJK and KJK, carried some sort of SOG folder (one guy bought the Aegis after watching a profiled youtube reviewers video) and the other guys bougth theirs on his reccomendation. As we all know the Aegis develops horrible bladeplay. The other ones had Cold Steel SRKs that were issued to them.

I only met one retired SF through my aunt (he was MJK) and he carried Moras. He liked them because he always lost them and they weren`t hard to replace.
But of course that is the european side of it.

On topic, I think get a Strider, try it and if you don`t like it sell it. That`s what I am planning to do.

If you don't like a thread don't post in it. You added nothing to the discussion.

I think it's clear that most people don't like strider for one reason our another. Try a ZT and I'm sure you won't look back.

If you think that there's anything new since this thread was run last month, please feel free to post your new findings.

New people posting. That's what a forum is about. Otherwise just lock everything and don't let anyone post.

I spent 4 years active in the Army infantry. I never saw anyone with a "Strider". To be honest, the only blades I ever saw were Gerber, SOG, and some Leathermans. This was partly because this was all that was available on base, but to be honest, it was mostly because this is all that most guys can afford.

This idea that our solliders are running around with designer folding knives that cost 400-500 dollars is cute :)

Once Benchmade's license from Ernie Emerson ran out, Emerson started producing his own CQC-7's from his factory in California.
You can buy a bomb-proof Emerson CQC-7 for $157.46 that has his traditional lightning-quick "wave" opening feature, tanto chisel-blade style.
I'm getting one with the more conventional double-V ground edge, but this is gonna be big for me.
I have nice knives, but I'm really counting on this one.
I don't want to spend a lot of money for a Sebenza, even though it's a good knife.

I have had 3 Striders. One of my SnG got a crack around the pivot. Sent it and that is it. things happen and a perfect new blade will arrive. I have a Spyderco Police that a friend broke the tip, Spyderco won't change or replace the blade, they resharpened it and that is it.
Strider warranty is the best in bussiness. Broke? send it. You will get it back as new.
Shit happens but if you want a knife that you can have for life that's a good one.
People whine too much. sometimes a little more tension on the lockbar fix the issue. Striders are users; tough ones and with the best back up.
the bad? you don't always have a center blade, you can't call the shop and talk with the guys but they have your back.
I emailed Josh and he replied back in less than 10 minutes :"send it in"
Cheers

Love, love, love Striders. I've had 12, currently have three. I've never had a problem with them. Of the dozens of knives I've owned, the only ones that really float my boat as far as design/ergos & just being a very reliable tool are Striders & CRKs. They are different knives, but I love them both for what they are. Small production & good stuff.

I just wanted to repost this because i think it's hilarious:)

I think the Strider designs are friggin awesome. I'd buy another one, and i've had a few. Go ahead and get one, and if you don't like it, sell it:)

I've never owned a Strider & prob never will, only because I can't afford 1. However if I could this would be it because it's the Hotness. This isn't my pic I snagged it because just looking at it makes me happy. Sometimes I print the picture out & put it in my pocket & pretend it's really there. maybe this pic will bring you the same happiness.
