I need some advice on this one guys. I love the hest 2.0 bit it rarely sees any pocket time. I like the fact that it's a very stout blade, but have never had any use for the other options it offers like the glass breaker, wire stripper, etc...

I have come back around to the liner locks and feel that the Gb would have a lock just as strong as th Hest. I really love the look of the GB and seems like everyone has nothing but great things to say about it. Anyone have any insight on this?

Need some advice and opinions.

Thanks guys.

I have had both, For the me the hest was a dissappointment, i didnt like the clip, blade handle ratio, had some vertical blade play, i like the looks but it just wasnt for me, although i like titanium and frame lock more than carbon fiber and liner lock.

The gayle bradley was a great folder, fit and finish, lock up, ergonomics, i like the m4 steel and patina it would form. i traded it but kinda wish i didnt...

For me i would take the gayle bradley, but thats just my opinion.

Gayle Bradley all the way.
I don't own a HEST due to the complaints about the items mentioned above.

Moved the thread to Feedback since we are discussing a trade.

My first hest was like this, but the last two of them have been perfect. I'm just curious about the GB and te hest sees barely any pocket time these days.

Thanks for the input guys.

Have never owned a Hest, and never will, but I can tell you the GB is one hell of a folder....

F&F is flawless, and M4 is a great steel, carries much lighter in the pocket then it's weight and size might suggest. My only complaint would be the edges of the handle are a hot spot on hard cuts that require a lot of force, but that could just be the way my hands fit the handle.

....That lock will never fail you unless of course, you use it to do something it was not meant for, but the GB is a hard use folder, and I have used it very hard never worrying about the lock.

Thanks for the info. I'm really wanting the GB but still hesitant to sell the heat.

Gayle Bradley anytime over anything DPx - too thick and useless for slicing, weird blade to handle ratio.

I am fairly certain that you picked up a GB on the exchange at a really fair price?

If I am correct, let us know what you think, and how it compares to the Hest...

Thanks.

I asked if he was interested in a trade as I cannot afford to purchase the GB without the sale of the hest.

I wish I would have. Haha

Sorry, I thought you picked it up.

You won't miss the Hest if you trade it for a GB.

It's the old function vs form debate.
If you use your knives, then from what I have read about the Hest, and what I know about the GB, they are not even comparable in terms of function. Form is personal thing.

I will leave it with you.

I hear you. The hest is not a great cutter, and all the gadgets on the knife really serve no purpose for me. It just feels good in the hand and is a perfect size for me. But that's about it. I think I am going to post it up for sale/trade for a GB.

Put the hest up FSOT today and no bites yet. Hopefully I can get rid of it and pick up a GB soon!!!

I saw it.

Wish you the best of luck, weekends can be a little slow on the exchange, so just be patient....

There was a lot of let's say 'controversy' over the launch of the knives, and RYP, the guy responsible for the design, and the release of the knife on this forum.

Let's just say that what happened might have had an effect on how many people on this forum look at the product as a whole.....

I hear you there. I remember that whole fiasco and what he did to ren. Messed up. We shall see. One thing I don't know, is are you allowed to start a new thread after so long to get the item back on top of page 1 since there is no ability to bump to the top??

The rules state that you can't re-list an item for 14 days....

Although, nobody really follows those rules in either the production or custom exchange (sadly) and I haven't seen it enforced much, if at all....

Everyone wants to be on page 1.

Sorry, I shouldn't have said 'nobody' but I see a ton of stuff re-listed after it leaves page 1, especially on the custom exchange.
