This has been gone over before, but would you PLEASE leave the price in after the knife is sold?

It really helps out if you are buying or selling to have an idea what similar blades are selling for and a big red SOLD offers no clue.

Thanks!

Rob

yes, please do, it makes no sense to remove the price.

.

Yes, leave the price up.

Taking it down is full of fail. :thumbdn:

I agree. Leaving the price up is a requirement on other sites I visit.

I don't understand the logic of removing it and even if I did, I'd say it is BS.

it is frustrating when you are trying to get some info for your own sales or even when making deals with others.

I've been saying that since my early days on this forum over 18 months ago. What's the big secret???

because someone (like myself) may be making an offer on something, or trying to sell something, and you can't accurately judge market value if out of ten threads only two have the price remaining and they are over six months old.

just my 2 cents anyway

While I would personally like for folks to leave their sale price listed as a matter of record for future research on pricing trends and the like, I can't see demanding that everyone do it. Some folks have their reasons for taking it down. I just know that I appreciate the members who do leave it up because I like to have data to look at when I am trying to price a blade for sale on the exchange. It is also handy to see what the recent sales prices have been so you know how much the market is bringing. I would think the later reason is beneficial to the guys just getting into collecting, as they usually have no idea what a fair market price it and then they come here and ask how much a knife is worth and what to expect to pay for a specific model.

Make an offer of what the knife is worth to you....not what someone else paid for it.

The last person who bought a knife might have paid 2000 for a BBSHSHII......is that a fair market value?

Why leave it?!

So I can see what YOU paid. :p

I think this might be some of it. That is why I usually avoid a post in the sale thread saying sold to "Hog X". If a guy wants to come out and say in the thread that he will take it, that is his business, but anyone who contacts me via email or PM will rarely see their name even come up in the thread. Consequently that is why this new itrade format for leaving feedback does not accurately portray the number of people we deal with. So much goes on behind the scenes, especially with this crowd.

I agree. Pricing trends will have little effect on current value. Paying $420 for a knife and finding out that it was originally $220 puts a dagger in my heart, but seeing the same knife later go for close to $600 makes me smile about the "deal" that I got.

Well if you were selling a BBSHSHII and found that there were two sales at about $1300 wouldn't you like to see the data on the recent $2000 sale?

All real information is good information

Leave them up . And posting them in this area " I'm thinking about Selling This One Isn't Right Either " And Then Doesn't Show Up On The Exchange Only On TGBU .
