Sellers on the Exchange

Leave them up . And posting them in this area " I'm thinking about Selling This One Isn't Right Either " And Then Doesn't Show Up On The Exchange Only On TGBU .

Yes the later situation would constitute a clear violation of forums rules for selling outside the exchange. It would be hard to prove though.

A lot of times the listing or wanted price is not the final value price!

I do, as most of you know (2nd or 3rd time buyers) take off sometimes money, if I can. Or do away with the PP fee's. ONLY IF I CAN!

I would rather have a NO PROBLEM transaction and loose a few bucks with a friend then get my asking price with whatever fee's needed from a newbe.

Personally, I do a somewhat light search and ask friends what they are generally running for dollar wise.

Then the price now becomes "how bad one needs to sell it or how bad one wants to buy it. Theres many variables.

But, back to the selling price ...sometimes it stays and sometimes I remove it ..and sometimes it's removed because the buyer had asked me too!

Also, what about when trades are suddenly involved?

just my .02

i have been asked to remove a price by the buyer. and since they just gave me a bunch of $$$$, i always honor that request.

otherwise i leave the prices and lock the thread once everything is sold.

The price gets removed because, when I go back to insert SPF, I just highlite/delete and retype. I Didn't know it was such a big deal to some. Since it is....I won't do it anymore. Now, if I could only remember how much I sold all those things for.......

I'll take your request under advisement. But, to me, the Buyer's request will take precedent...if it is asked, the price will be removed. If trades are involved, it will also be removed.
............................

Also... I'm thinking of listing an SHBM, known as the 'Figment' SHBM, because it's a figment of my imagination.... Does $1600 sound about right? :foot: ;)

LOL :D

there is no data because there was no sale:eek:
Well if you were selling a BBSHSHII and found that there were two sales at about $1300 wouldn't you like to see the data on the recent $2000 sale?

All real information is good information
.

This is an old debate. I see good points on both sides. I leave the prices after the sale so others can see. As long as the buyer does not request otherwise. But I can understand those who want to keep things confidential.

What I have done, as mentioned here already, is ask my fellow HOGS regarding a fair price in their opinions. I usually ask 5 or more HOGS and go with the average. Not perfect but it has worked for me.

Ok I see both sides more clearly after a little drinking....

When I first read i was like leave it up, but...........

I guess the problem with this is the potnetial problem with Taxes, sfety, security, etc...

When new system hit I wa like rest to run out and fill in as many as possible to have feedback, but I am starting to see is a complete list and inventory of my collection and its value:eek:

If the info is not going to be purged and it will last forever.....it becomes an inventory list that invites the IRS or thieves lurking to .........

I am not so sure as to how much more feedback I will be leaving or asking for?

May be a mod can provide some input.....

May have been covered somewhere, but I ve been busy dancing with my Seagrams:thumbup:

I agree with Rob (wetdog1911). Unless the buyer has been named, and requests that the price be removed, I prefer for the price to remain visible.

I take it a step to far being a CPA. I have a spreadsheet that shows the knife and the value I paid as well as other info. I also have an estimated value column. When a similar knife sells on the exchange that info gets logged.

I know some of you are not as organized as that but it only takes a few minutes a week to keep up with it.

One other thing though- DO NOT put a total column at the bottom- It will make your jaw drop :D

BUsse content for fun-

I keep a record in a txt file of what the knife cost me in USD, how much I paid after conversion to CAD and how much I paid in customs and taxes.

well...it was talking in hog land before, i though there were an agreement, but as time goes by, not many ppl follow after.

when I want to keep track of how much something cost me I just do the Paypal search for sent funds in the past year.

I don't see how buying and selling knives would affect the taxman, unless its done consistantly for profit. American taxes may be different.

Thieves shouldn't be a problem unless your screen name and physical address have been given to someone who is shifty. I know geeks can get your physical address from your IP and email address etc but how many nerds would try to rob a self confessed Busse addict? most you guys seem to have guns also so its a no brainer.

I think that buyers preference is what should happen. On a sale, I don't care if I leave the price up or pull it down. Buyers preference. I don't care if someone leaves up that I paid 350AUD for my BATAC. Trades are another thing though, because dollar value aside, people value some knives/items more than others.

all in all I think that unless asked, final sale price excluding shipping should be left.

I have always left the price in, and never had a buyer ask me to delete it. I would certainly honor such a request.

i would prefer they were left up also
can anyone give me a legitimate reason for removing the sale price ?
