Selling knives on Ebay...just a question.

Why won't people bid on knives if there is a reasonable starting bid, reserve, or buy it now on the auction? For example, say a knife valued at $100.00 with a starting bid of $75.00 just gets no bids.Put .99 cents on it and everyone bids. Whats up with that?

I bought about half of my knives on e-bay and whatever I didn't like I sold there. If I can buy a knife from a good dealer for for $100, I wouldn't pay more than $80-85 on e-bay. It is always some risk involved even if seller has 100% positive feedback. So if starting price is $75 i would put it on my watch list, but if it has a reserve, I wouldn't bother.

I don't think eBay is a very good source for values. It is only a source for values on eBay
I disagree for old knives
If you could somehow take away shipping charges (I wish!!) and all the "fees" (PayPal, EBAY,etc.), EBAY would be the CLOSEST thing to the "free market" (aka open market) out there
What other venues enables you access to millions of potential customers?
