September BOTM Guesses/Wishlist - Who guessed a 631? You're a winner!

Oof...

I love the Paklite knives, I own almost the entire collection of them. But, $165? Nah, can't do it. Cerakote? Don't care. I'm over the Magnacut thing.

At some point you're just doing stuff because you can. Get back to making knives and leave the novelty market to those guys who make beard combs and bottle openers.

I love the idea of a lightweight hunting knife, but this one misses for me. Needs a nonconductive handle and a lighter weight to compete.
Asking out of ignorance, why would the knife need to be non-conductive? How would you make the knife lighter and to what would it compete with?

Metal handles conduct cold. I occasionally hunt in very cold temps and prefer to perform quartering without insulating gloves. Plastic or rubber are great.

Benchmade Bugout, Hogue Extrak, and Benchmade Taggedout are interesting competitors. 1.9oz to 2.1oz. Each seems to have far less steel, which is probably how they achieve the weight?

I dont pry with hunting knives, so they dont need to be tough. Just sharp, light, comfortable, and hard to lose.

Thank you. I understand.

I knew this reminded me of something... Benchmade Altitude. 3.08" blade S90v for $300.

I like the BOTM better

I'm not a big fan of Cerakote, but if it was black I just might have been tempted. It looks like it'd be easy enough to remove the handle slabs & replace them with a beefier, more comfortable, full handle of wood.
Same, I don't like cerakote, unless it's black. A blackout 631 would have looked slick.

I do like the concept of the knife, and the fact that Buck is doing something BOTM besides the more common knives.
I like the hi-vis color. Anyone that's set a knife down processing game could agree.
And the sheath is different.👍
I like the blade length.
But as stated by Les', I gotta have more of a handle to hang onto.
I've always thought these PakLite knives would be nice to add your own handle, but not at that price.

Compare this to the Benchmade shown earlier, this Buck is the better buy. IMO.

In the end, I could probably lose a knife every time I went hunting for the rest of my life, and still have a knife for next time.

Like any hunting knife, we all have our preferences. Personally, if I wanted any orange coloration on a utility or hunting knife, I would want it on the handle only - and not the blade. The new BOTM is a bit too loud (and pricey) for me. To each his own...

35 left as of 9:50a (EST)

Oddly, 90 minutes later, the number available has risen to 42. I guess they 'found' 7 more, or maybe orders for 7 were cancelled.
465 hasty orders, ya gotta figure a few of them will have second thoughts.
Just now it said 8 in my cart is too many - does that mean there are only 7 left?
