Seriously ESEE...what's in your knives?

But we are seeing a trend with other manufacturers realizing that customer service and taking care of the end-user is the most important thing when it comes to running a business. This is a good thing.

There are a lot of good knife manufacturers out there. You're right that we all benfit once they figure this out!

I understand the original poster.

I bought the ESEE-5 and within a month I bought two Izulas.

I want a 6 now. (People told me to get the 6 over the 5. Since I bought the 5, I should get the 6 now.)

I'd really like the Lite Machete, it'll be the biggest blade I've ever owned

AH Yep.. I was one tryin ta talk ya into a 6. I got my Junglas 1st, then the 6 (Its funny??? I can't seem to Stop takin the blades out at night and cutting newspapers into curlycues????? or just holdin the grip??? Yeah somethins up?) Oh I preordered the new Izula ll. *see it got me again* and I just have to have that Machete.! Yep. I understand the 1st post too. edgy

*I think I do???*

No kidding.

In about a month I've acquired a Junglas, HEST, Izula, and (ordered today) ESEE 3MIL.

I also have a HEST folder on pre-order and will likely get an E&E kit.

I've always been big on knives, but not like this. But I'm enjoying every second of it.

What I think makes ESEE so addictive is value. They are doing something that is all but dead in the modern age. Back in the day, lifetime warranties, great materials and unmatched craftsmanship were always an American hallmark. Almost every American company operated on these principles. In this day and age those three traits are too frequently traded for "maximize profits", "win at all costs", and "design it with a known lifespan so it's disposable and we can sell more."

There are knives that are three times the price or more that I wouldn't choose over my ESEE-4. It's a fantastic tool of fantastic quality made by fantastic Americans with an unbelievable warranty.

That's why we're all so obsessed with them. Oh, and they look cool too. Just my opinion of course... But what the hell do I know? :D

Regards,
Jeff

I think with all that time in South America, they are bringing something back to put in the power coat. Think about it.

They don't make a single blade without a coating.
The more you handle it, the more you want another.
When the "new" wears off of it, a fresh one always gives you a zing.
Everyone wants you to "use it" or "dirty it up", thus SCRATCHING the coating releasing what lies underneath
You find yourself wanting to sharpen them, even when they will fuzz a chest hair
No one gets to handle "your" ESEE knives but you
You always seem to want the LARGER blade with more "powder" coating

Oh, yeah. I see whats going on here.

LOL. Yeah, I know, its wrong. I think, personally, they are some dam good knives at an affordable rate, made by a company who's co owner sips tequila and like crazy women. They eat fried chicken, teach people to survive, and understand what gear is and how to get it made. Cheers. Moose

PS. I hate tequila, but I loves ma Jack.

DAMN! brotha, you are so addicted!

There's no class or help big and powerful enough to help you kick your addiction to ESEE, just enjoy it and be one with it my friend. :D

Stay safe.

Damn texastonydobbs that is an awesome collection and great pictures. I don't feel so bad about the ones I have. I guess I have been fighting the addiction better than I thought.

Us carbon based lifeforms have an affinity for carbon steel, it's no real surprise if you think about it. If I had more money then I would have more ESEE knives! I'll probably get a Lite Machete before Xmas - with a Lite Machete and a Izula there would be very little I couldn't handle.

Texas.....wow. When the SHTF, how will you decide what to leave behind?
Remember, part of survival skill is in knowing when to conserve your resources, which goes for everyday life too.
Grins.
I do admire your passion though.

you know that funny smell when you first get the knife? tuf-glide. it's on every ESEE-knife you get. just get a tuf-cloth, and sniff it when the new wears off your most recent purchase. or keep buying 'til you have every configuration of every blade. with matching serial numbers. pre-rowen, too. good luck with some of those.

at first I didnt find anything special about them , but after I got my first ESEE , I think I need help this is like drugs . I need more !!! gonna order 5 soon.

Happy after my original post I see I'm not the only one hooked. ESEE truly has a knife for every job...and I think I need basically the entire line.

ESEE 3MIL should be here Monday. Have a 4 and an Izula. Thinking about a 6 next. May get the 5 too at some point.

id pm you but i couldnt. would really like to get something like that if you or anyother members could point me in the right direction. thanks.

back on topic esee is awesome. probably getting a 6 then junglas next.

Well ESEE, you've done it to me again.

My 3MIL arrived today and it's yet another horribly impressive knife. Probably one of the sharpest knives I've seen. I'd call this one irresponsibly sharp. Amazing. Flawless in every possible way.

So again, these ESEE knives being the crack rock they are, I looked at my budget and felt I could afford just one more purchase. So an ESEE-6 has been ordered. Should be here later in the week.

So now I've got my Izula, ESEE-4, ESEE-3MIL and a ESEE-6 on the way! Think that's gonna round things out for now. ESEE-5 is going on the Christmas list.

Can't wait to finally get a camping trip in soon. All these ESEE's are gonna get one hell of a workout.

Seriously ESEE, your knives are top notch and I thank you. Don't change a thing please.

I'll take one of each knives ESEE makes, please.
I priced it out the other day, $700 for the stuff I still need
(I have the 5 and Izula)
