One of the hardest to find serrated Buck is the 112..This one was the last one ordered during the brief period Buck opened up the Custom shop. Joe made this for me and brought it to the Blade Show that year. It went missing for over 6 years till my Brother David found it in a bag with about 5 other 112's and some rare 112 shieth's I left in his car.Resized_Resized_2013-11-10_13.37.29001_6138.jpeg

I forgot about the bagel knife! I have 3 I use in the kitchen. They came with the picnic sheath shown above.

I also have 3 with their cutting boards. (They clip to the back of the cutting board.) I bought them as housewarming presents to my kids. I included the sheaths with the little fork that came with my users. So they can use it either way.

Incase something happens to me I still want to share in that milestone.

I had planned to write letters to go with them, but I haven’t gotten to it. I need to get that done.

I have to admit that I am not a fan of serrated blades and would not want a serrated single blade knife. A serrated secondary blade might have som use, but I think that would only be occasional. Serrated steak knives seem to be somewhat popular, but I don't see the need for them. I do have some knives with serrated secondary blades, but that is just part of collecting.

My thoughts. No question that a truly sharp straight edged knife will cut thru a steak like no serrated knife ever could but.....
the average person does not maintain kitchen knives like a true aficionado would. The teeth on the steak knife help protect the blade from the hard surface of a China plate. The plate will wear a non serrated edge faster (not everyone is careful). I think the end result is the serrated steak knife will maintain its so so cutting ability longer when in a low maintenance environment.

Those are easily the most used knives in our home.

Yep.
The wife now knows how to cut just the food, and not the plate/ cutting board.
