Ha ha. I can top that. My wife handed me a bag the other day she found in the laundry room.It went missing for over 6 years till my Brother David found it in a bag with about 5 other 112's and some rare 112 sheath's I left in his car.
My thoughts. No question that a truly sharp straight edged knife will cut thru a steak like no serrated knife ever could but.....Serrated steak knives seem to be somewhat popular, but I don't see the need for them. /Bert
Those are easily the most used knives in our home.I forgot about the bagel knife! I have 3 I use in the kitchen. They came with the picnic sheath shown above.
I also have 3 with their cutting boards. (They clip to the back of the cutting board.) I bought them as housewarming presents to my kids. I included the sheaths with the little fork that came with my users. So they can use it either way.
Incase something happens to me I still want to share in that milestone.
I had planned to write letters to go with them, but I haven’t gotten to it. I need to get that done.View attachment 2179170
Yep.My thoughts. No question that a truly sharp straight edged knife will cut thru a steak like no serrated knife ever could but.....
the average person does not maintain kitchen knives like a true aficionado would. The teeth on the steak knife help protect the blade from the hard surface of a China plate. The plate will wear a non serrated edge faster (not everyone is careful). I think the end result is the serrated steak knife will maintain its so so cutting ability longer when in a low maintenance environment.

That is a good looking knife, even with the serrations. Here's the wife's ebony handled 932 slicer with a polished blade.
