SERRATIONS--love em or hate em??

In general I prefer a plane edge, but I found that PS knives is very good for my EDC tasks, especially hard use types of folders - both of my Emersons are PS, Gerber Covert AF (love this little wicked blade), also serrations on the SAKs works just great. Full serrated knives is useless for me.

For me, its either full serrated or full plain edge, I HATE combo blades, the worst of both worlds IMO.... I find that serrations really shine when they're on a curved/hawkbill blade like a Harpy or Tasman Salt

Thanx for all the responses guys. Has anyone checked out the mid-blade serrated knife thread by subwoofer. Definitely an interesting idea . I like it . Wish I was more computer savy I'd link it here. Maybe someone could help with that please? Again thanx for your input.

Won't buy a knife with serrations. Always an exception to every rule, mine is except a bread knife for the kitchen.

I agree with the post about combo edges above. I hate chasing a flat edge or serrations when cutting. I used to love serrations but now I'm not a fan. Maybe it's a combo edge thing and I need to try a fully serrated blade.

Now that I'm good at sharpening, I don't need or want serrations on my knives.

This is it.

I used to get partial serrated when I was new to this, thinking that if the primary edge was too dull I could saw through if needed. That really becomes invalid once you learn to sharpen.

I don't mind combo if there's enough PE, but I don't prefer it either.

I do EDC a fully serrated Spydie, though, and it is a freaking chainsaw.

Sharpens easily, and it's my main folder. For delicate tasks or things that require a PE I have my multitool, utility knife or a SAK or neck knife with small blade, always sharp and ready.

Thanx for all the responses fellas. I guess in the end it comes down to what the task at hand is. Now that the weather has warmed up I use /carry a serrated blade more often especially doing my side job as a tree climber. There is always the possibility of having to cut thru some serious rope in a jam. More than once I've had to cut thru 1" spectra rope to save someone, myself included some serious pain.
