Sesh Anthony - don't bother, waste of effort and time

There was never several times! 1st time:- MD bearcat on tactical forums, Parker emailed me the pics, I emailed him back to say I would PASS on it. Clear and simple. 2nd time:- 2 knives on bladeforums, I said I'll take them at first but when Parker told me that he prefers paypal, I told him that it would be difficult for my knife dealer to do paypal. Then, I admit that I took a while before I told him I didnt want the knives. Shortly after that, I could not get access to my gmail account. I could never gain access to my gmail account after that.
There were only 2 times, the 2nd time, he may not have gotten the email I sent, anyways, I cannot access my gmail account until now.
There it is. Keith, did I offend you in any way? From your posts, seems like I did..

You have never offended me in any way. I just like to have a clear understanding as to why something happened, particularly when someone that has a stellar reputation has something like this posted about him. You're explanation sounds reasonable to me. As I stated, screwups happen.

Thanks for your side of the story. It probably will not turn into an "I said, he said". Your last response was a reasonable one.

Best Regards,

Yes, Sesh, your response is reasonable here. Well overdue, but reasonable. Maybe.

Just to clarify, please do not tell anyone you informed me you were passing on the Perrin and the Livesay. That's not true. If it was, I would not have held them in limbo for several weeks for you. I also would not have posted here at GBU I'd like you to contact me. In fact, I would not have started this post at all. I would have had no reason to do so.

But since now you are active in buying and selling again here you want to clear up this "miscommunication?" Hell, if I was such a big collector and needed to be doing deals with the Sultan and all that, I bet I'd start a yahoo acct if my Gmail went down.

It just smells funny, Sesh, and if nothing else, a simple PM or email thru the board would have been sufficient. Being honest, if it was important to you to communicate with me, you would have found a way pretty simply. SeshAnthony@yahoo or something like that would be easy enough.

The reason you have not had this problem at a show is it is either "cash and carry" or not at all. You either buy or you don't. Paypal is a simple easy thing to acquire, really, which makes it a virtual show. Again, you can buy right away or simply say you are not interested, just looking. Nothing wrong with that either. But one or the other.

I've made my screwups here as well, but rather than refute them, I usually go out of my way to fix them privately, so that they don't become the subject of GBU, and resultingly I'm busy backpedalling. Recently I did have a couple issues which caused me to have some problems with a gent going by Jack London, which were resolved straight away. In fact, addressed that day, versus six weeks later. Hell, resolved that day, even.

As Keith mentioned early on, I had been way patient with this, and waited a long time to post this up. Your response at this time may be reasonable, but I wonder what took you so long to say your piece. Again, maybe it's just not that important to you. But then again I'm not doing business with the Sultan and all that, and your tone is more than a little ingenuous for a guy with egg on his face explaining his actions a month and a half later.

Parker, seriously didnt know about this thread until Hunter660 bumped it up yeaterday. I emailed you, please check your email. Thanks.

I don't know you Sesh--sounds like you're well liked here--but I DO know Parker and I DO know how patient and reasonable he is. We had a deal recently that took longer on my end than I find acceptable (my dealer forgot to ship Parker's package) but I tried to make sure Parker knew what happened as SOON as I knew and, even though he could have whined and carped about it, he was never anything more than as understanding as a man could possibly be. I ALWAYS pride myself on shipping the same day as I receive payment but this time it was out of my control--at least for a day or two. I think that if people just make the effort to talk to each other--by whatever means neccessary--this kind of stuff doesn't need to happen. Just don't like to see a man I KNOW is top-notch, and a fellow who seems to be also, have to bring things in here. Just my 1.5 cents worth. Jim Falor SEMPER FI

He contacted me about 3 weeks back and said he was interested and would take a Wilderness and a Galco LRB/Rigger belt I put up for sale. He said ne was buying them for someone in Singapore and would send me a money order from someone in the states.

I'm still waiting to hear back if he was sending payment... :jerkit:

Waste of time!:thumbdn:

If I say I'm interested in something and that I will buy it, I follow through with what I say and complete the deal. But that's just me...:)

Since 8/21, have bought almost 20 busses/rats. Most of the MOs have reached the sellers, only 2 are on their way, including the 1 to you. Another seller will get paypal payment on Monday. Just ask bladeforums members Infi & beyond, Tuyio, Border Shift, David Brown, 007 ZZero, Phillip Patton, Mark Roe if I am true to my word. Have supported the custom knife industry for many years, just ask notable dealers like Dave Harvey, Rhett Stidham, R&cC Knives(now defunct), Paul Basch and Steve D'Lack. Bought knives from many makers of note including, Dean, Crowell, Appleton, Schimidt, Hendrickson, Potier, Bartug, Hartsfield(over 100 pieces). Kindly please ask any of them if I defaulted on payment. If you DO NOT recieve your MO by the end of next week, kindly feel free to post here.

While it's fine that you list sellers, knife dealers, and knifemakers, and that you've "supported the custom knife industry for many years". . . .onus isn't on "us" to contact those listed in determining your status. In reality, all it means is that you're able to toss names out and that we have to rely on your word.

One of the great things about GB&U, is that knife knuts are allowed to see others in real time, to a point. Simply, a stellar past does not make an excellent present. There are plenty of examples of that in GB&U !

As already mentioned, "You're only as good as your last transaction."

Like I said, "a stellar past does not make an excellent present."

While it sucks that e-mails go down. . . .it's a very easy fix.

Gents, thank you for the support here. Seriously, I'm glad to have you come out and speak up here. It means a lot to me and holds the BFC standard high overhead.

I did in fact recieve an email apology from Sesh over the weekend.

I've been away from the computer all but to look for three specific emails over the weekend. Time was a very short commodity for me over the last couple days and will continue to be so I am sad to say for the immediate future.

I'll respond to Sesh in private, but wanted to put it here that he's trying to make right with me.

However, Owl is now experiencing the same concerns here that I have experienced, and this is now again not addressed.

Gig hit it right on the head and while I believe Sesh is sincere in his apology to me, Owl needs to be made right as well.

Sesh, apology is one thing. Building it again now is another. Get with Owl, make it right and then move forward. Your response over the weekend of "I'm not going to address this" was incorrect and you have come out to fix the issue, which does speak well of you, but just finish what needs to be done. Maybe even post a thread at GBU of your own indicating you would like to handle comms with anyone you dropped out of contact with.

It's the results like this which makes me really appreciate BFC - I'm sure that there was an email glitch, but the incident allows everyone to see not only what happened and who got bent out of joint, but the prospect of remedying almost any situation.

I also just completed a trade deal with Parker, and couldn't be happier with the manner in which he communicated and followed through with it from beginning to end.
Like all of the (few but increasing) deals and dealings I have had here so far, it has been a pleasure.
Just chiming in my support from personal experience. :)
