Seven Sebbies

Hi folks,

Some of you may remember that I had earlier mentioned my idea to collect seven large Sebbies. The plan was to carry and then change my Sebenza every evening and that starts tomorrow, Sunday 17th January 2010 with the Boxwood Elder Sebbie. Having been carried for that day, it will be put away until the following week after picking out a new one at random for the next day. I haven't started to make the Blackthorn desk stand to hold them on yet as I'm still not convinced the sticks are fully dried to prevent splitting. There's no panic anyway as I have to change my original idea of two rows holding the seven knives because I fancy including my desk knife into the design now. I’ll post a picture of the stand when it is finished later.

I have four Classics and four Regulars. Seven will be for carry while the other, the S30V Micarta Classic, will be my desk knife.

Now some pictures the collection;

The Classics are,

Classic with Snakewood inlay and S30V stainless steel blade.
Classic with Micarta inlay and S30V stainless steel blade.
Classic 21 with Micarta inlay and Raindrop Damasteel blade.
Classic with Mammoth Ivory inlay and Basketweave Damasteel blade.

The Regulars are,

2001 Limited Edition. Maple Burl inlay and BG-42 stainless steel blade.
2006 Limited Edition. Amboyna Burl inlay and Spirograph Damasteel blade.
2008 Limited Edition . Mammoth Ivory inlay and Raindrop Damasteel blade.
2009 Limited Edition. Boxwood Elder inlay and S30V stainless steel blade.

And all eight shown together;

I can't imagine someone using those for EDC, I would have to put my white gloves on to handle them.

Roefisher you are a "The King"

Thanks for the positive comments, folks!

Yes, they're going to be carried alright. I've sold everything else so they would need to be :eek:

Now, this is an amateur effort so no laughing at the back :grumpy: Here's a picture of the original desk stand I planned along with the Blackthorn I will be using.

Later, due to buying a second Micarta sebenza unplanned, I decided to have an eighth Sebbie as my desk knife and I'm trying to include a stand for this into the design. Here's my latest idea;
