What about this an idea?

It's a traditional Scottish Sgian Dubh .

We could make these if someone wanted something like this?

that handle is crazy cool! Is that carved wood, or a woven overlay?

You know what might fill a niche is combining that handle with different blade styles than the traditional mini-dagger shape. Like with the blade shape of a Fallkniven H1, for example.

Mods and design exercizes are always cool - But then they are no longer what the full, original pattern was/is.

The Sgian Dubh is a dirk. Change the blade style then it's no longer a dirk, or a Sgian Dubh.

That would be like putting a Bowie blade on a Katana - Then, it's no longer a Katana. It's a mod, or design exercize. Or just some cool different kinda blade, at least in my eyes.

It would be cool but I think it may have to carry it's own new name.

I think if I were to press the limit, I would keep the original pattern but go with the most advanced materials available -Kind of a "Super Tech"
