SH-1 Value

Beautiful pics Dave. I have seen em at $1500 and I think one on bay was near $2200 for the one like yours with all the writing, but I dont remember the details as to whether it was at auction, buy it now, did or didnt have bids etc.

Interesting. I would have said "North of $1500" ... but wouldn't be surprised to see someone ask for $2K.

Hope that estimate helps.

Thanks everyone for you input.
Seems like the consenses is somewhere in the $1500 to $2000 range.
Good luck to all those HOGs still searching.
I am content with the ones I have so am not actively looking for more. :D

.

The problem with value estimates is the object (in this case a knife) is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. It is easy to say an object is worth $1500 - $2000, but if I had put mine up at a $2000 asking price, I doubt it would have sold. In fact, in these times, I doubt it would have sold at $1500. So when I asked $1100, I priced it at an amount I thought was fair and would sell at, it did. Finding the right person to get the best price from at the time you need it, can be tricky or a matter of luck.

Absolutely. Couldn't agree more. Success speaks for itself.

Bringing an old thread up to see if anyone has a ballpark value in today's collector market (if there is one).

Here's a couple old pics of the old SH-1 vs new ASH-1.

Dave, that 2nd pic, center 2 knives Micarta is unbelievable!!! What a fantastic pattern. I wish Jerry would still make some in the ATS-34 or 154CM.

Congrats Bro!!!

I would suggest that the value (liquidity) depends on the speed at which you intend to sell.

Plus the Number being offered for the previous 90 days or so and number you put in a given ad for sale.

If you are in a hurry, I would suggest roughly $1,000.00 for a single in good condition none others offered in the last 90 days.

That is here on the Forums, more is very possible at the Bay.

If not in a hurry, an ad put up when some new person shows up spending lots of money, a Buyer in a rush with more money than patience then the market will bear kind of lot!

I paid 1000 for the only "BUSSE" spine stamped SH1, I've ever seen.....that price was set by eBay.......and possibly myself

Bringing this back up to see what everyone thinks todays values might be.
Time to updayr the ins paperwork so lloking for today's values.

thanks,
dave

How about the ASH-1 in Infi at .22" or .25"?

We've had a few that are close, including the recent Battle Grade. The ASH-1 at .32" was solid as a rock, but darn thick for everyday use and cutting. The Skinny was nice too ... but skinny. The LE at .22" was perfect ... but expensive. How about .25" in CG and Satin? With Snakeskin while we're at it.

I think I see a pig in the sky!! Or a Hog!

One went on Ebay a few months ago in used condition for 600 to 700 range IIRC. One also sold in used condition on AZCK for 600 to 700 IIRC. The one on AZCK can still be found.

I snagged one on eBay for $638, including shipping. I didn't really know what I had bought at the time. It had several different bidders, so I'm sure that's somewhere near fair market these days.
