SH1 clone project

Just saw this, Man thats gonna be real close to origanal. Great idea:thumbup:

I added some updated pictures to post #2. Right now the scales are a little too thick, they are just under 1.0" thick. What do you think so far?

Back to work...............

Right now the scales are a little too thick, they are just under 1.0" thick.

That puts them right around the thickness of mags on a CG blank. I would choose to just round off the flats, smooth out the swells, and call it good.

Tim, looks excellent.

you gonna put your famous ducci clip on it? :D

So far I really like the way this is comming along. I'm quite impressed!

Moar pics please!

Lookin' good!

Thanks for posting this - it's a great project.

Ducci, that looks awesome  I can't believe how smooth these are under the coating  Cool work for sure

Great work Tim!! I agree w/ Rick on leaving it thick. Just touch up the fine details and put it to use. Better to be too thick than too thin on the first trial run.

Nuke On!!

O.K., I spent a couple of more hours and pretty much cleaned up the scales (handles). I posted more pictures to the #3 post. There is a little more work to do on the spine, but the handles are done basically. I was originally going to give it a bead blasted finish when done, but it currently matches the finish of the original one so close right now, I'm going to leave it as is. The KMG grinder makes it so much easier to do the rework, but it still takes time.

Tim,

Awsome. :thumbup::thumbup:
How many more are you willing to do???????
Now that looks like the perfect user.

Congrats on a job well done.

Awesome Tim! I hope you bring it to Blade West.
Now, when's the "Grind In" at your place?;):D

Me likey a lot:cool:

The thumbramp and radiused spine sets it apart from the regular Ash1.
The blade profits a lot from this minor adjustment/correction in my opinion:thumbup::thumbup:

The handles look great too. Very nice work Grinducci:D

That looks really, really good. Do you think the missing 3rd pin will affect strength? I mean, unless your Noss it's probably not going to matter...
Hah, this makes me want to strip my CG ASH.
Good work!
