I've carried mine for about 7 months now. I've really been working it hard. It's a user for me.

I've managed to put some stuffs on the DLC and I've worn the black off the pivot hardware from pocket and hand wear.

There is a nicer coating on the Shaman clip than the powder coated and painted clips we've gotten in the past. Reminds me of the parkerized clips some of the Benchmades offer.

This design is very robust. Stainless steel like s90v and m390 etc would not be the best choice to compliment this design.

This should be a tool steel lover design.

Plenty of other designs with thinner geometries to accentuate the more expensive longer wear stainless steel.

I'd really like to see steels like Cruwear and 4v used with this design.

Most people haven't really gotten a chance to realize how much they will love those steel compared to m4 and m390.

Try something new.

I voted for Cru-Wear so I'm glad to see that you mention it specifically, Shawn. Haven't tried 4V yet. I was thinking it would be more appropriate for a fixed blade or larger folder. (This would satisfy the latter.)

Oh, and stop picking on M4. (You've been warned. :p)

The 4V bandits are out of control

:D:D:D

It's a good thing old "Doc" Holliday spent his last days in CO or Sal might run us both outta town.

The wear on that knife is EPIC! I love the shots. Thanks for sharing. I'm pulling for Cruwear!

It will never happen,,, the base retail price for a Shaman is +$50 over the PM2.
Not enough sales to justify a Sprint run.

Regards,
FK

The real shame is that the Shaman was initially only 5 bucks more than the PM2 before the price hike.

That said, i would like to see Micarta. I don’t care which blade steel as long as it doesn’t make the knife some stupid price. Stainless though

After owning both the Shaman should have been more expensive than a PM2. The people who got one early on should be very grateful because they got a steal of a knife at that price. I used points to cash in and got mine at an unbelievable deal now that I own it. It's a really great knife and design.

Completly agree!

Hi Blues,

I opted for canvas Micarta. The factory is doing some testing on strength ans shrinkage of the material.

Good morning, Sal!

I didn't personally get into the question of handle material in this thread, but I've always liked canvas micarta, (blame Bob Loveless I guess), so I think that's a great choice. Good looking and excellent grip. (I have it on a few custom and production pieces. "Green" for the most part.)

Have you decided on the blade steel?
(Cru-Wear would be a great choice. Just in case nobody's mentioned it. ;))

Thanks for the update, Sal. Looking forward to this one.:thumbsup:

You're my hero. Thanks for adding commentary. Really looking forward to this sprint.

Just think what a slab of Cruwear, would be like in a Shaman! Canvas micarta works for me as well. 'Sprint run funds' accumulating now, as this is a must have piece.

It costs what it costs. Thicker G10, more machine time for t
Micarta is pretty strong, but not as strong as G10, you would need heavier liners in the least.

Micarta is plenty strong enough for a knife. No need to beef up the steel liners.

Unless your using micarta as an anchor point to belay off of YIKES :p
