i haven’t seen any hard dates or details. Anyone got the scoop on sprint steels/materials?

S90v and carbonfiber will likely be first via Sal. The guys on the Spyderco forums mentioned that's what they would like to see. As for price or availability that's yet to be determined to the general public. Only spyderco would know.

I have a feeling this knife will see a lot of configurations in the future. I also would love to see a lightweight in this blade/handle design and a size smaller overall design too. This design has so much potential. A linelock, framelock, back lock, even a flipper all could fit with this overall design.

Hi Gamma,

No one has come forward with any requests at this time. It is an expensive knife to make. The machining of the G-10 is time consuming. If no one comes up with any requests, I'll probably want to try one to my tastes.

For the purposes of discussion (no promises) what "Sprint" combination would you like?

I'd like to try out a version in Cruwear or a similar equivalent (I forget what the newest mule team is in, PD1?) . Not as concerned about the handle but dark green G10 would be cool.

I'd imagine if machining the 3D G10 is expensive, a carbon fiber handle would be much more expensive. G10 is fine for me, especially for a "heavy duty, working" blade.

Well, if you’re taking requests... I’d like a tough non-stainless blade (cruwear or 3v or m4 or something similar) with canvas micarta scales. I posted this same request on another thread so I sound like a broken record, but that’s what I’d like to see.

Lc200n on this beast of a blade with carbon fiber handles and rust resistant hardware and this knife is ready for anything. Compresssion or lock back would be fine with me.

I like this idea too. Marbled carbon fiber would be a plus, but the standard stuff would be fine.

High on my list would be M4 or S90V with CF handles. I was hoping from some other threads and Sal’s posts on those that something was already in the works. Maybe not yet? ☹️

My favorite steel, M390 and CF scales. It would not bother if it came out with G-10 I would just switch my CF scales and put it on the M390. It would help make the price more palatable due to the increases in MAP pricing.

Cruwear and carbon fiber.. like the recent manix 2. I really like the CF used on that exclusive. I'd be more than happy with M390 or CTS-XHP or S90V with black or green micarta.

Cruwear, PD1, M4, 4V would be must-haves for me.
CF, gray or tan or brown G10.
Those are preferences, but if I get a Shaman it will be because it has an awesome steel :)

You mentioned it here along with everyone else requesting other things too.

I'd like one in m4, LC200N, 4v 20cv or cruware with peel ply carbonfiber scales (if cf too expensive I can get custom scales made) .

Cruwear and Carbon Fiber is my first choice.

I would also be happy with G10 or Micarta for handle material and Elmax or M4 for blade steel

Sal, you’re the man.

I kind of like the g10 and don’t personally see a big need for carbon fiber.

For steel, I would like 20CV, Elmax, m390, or s90v.

I was all set to order an S30v shaman until the price increased...now I’ve got to wait and see what is in store for the sprints.
