Shame on him for not having a blade!

"The 32-year-old father told SWNS that they got a late start to the hospital because he was in the middle of watching the movie "8 Mile" with rapper Eminem, when his partner started having contractions."

I think she just wanted to get out of watching that movie
Agreed ! And based on daddy's priorities , he probably shouldn't be allowed around sharp objects .:p

When I was an EMT we were instructed to raise the placenta higher than the baby(so the blood is in the baby) and tie it off a few inches from the baby, and again a few inches from there (redundancy). Cutting the cord wasn't worth the risk in the field (Murphy's Law). The placenta needed to go to the hospital with the baby, anyhow.

8 Mile was an OK movie and Eminem is not only a talented rapper but he has been one of the most influential people in music for almost 20 years.

moral of the story, don't watch the movie 8 Mile when pregnant lol.

It's not a bad thing to leave the cord attached for a short period of time to let the cord blood move back into the baby. not sure how far away from the hospital they were, but that could have been an option.

I have a similar story only I was not watching 8 mile and I delivered my youngest in the back seat of my car. I had no need to cut the cord though, right after I caught her I took a step back and the cord snapped spraying blood all over the back seat. Yes it was fun to clean.

That explains a lot about the current music scene ? My musical tastes were fossilized in ancient times ! ;)
