Shameless copies.

I think it's a neat topic, seems very polarizing. Honestly for the price it's amazing the quality of materials and fit and finish they've been putting out. Most of the big budget companies are producing from China anyway.
I think you are lost. Did you know you were in the Busse forum? There is nothing polarizing to the Busse crowd. We all despise fakes. If you like fakes, you are in the wrong house.

What are you talking about with "quality of materials and fit and finish"? How do you know the steel is what they say it is on fakes? That crap is probably made out of aluminum and the scales are probably plastic.

Busse doesn't have anything made in China.

Ok, jumped in head first without looking. Did not know I was in a busse forum. Apologies.

That was pretty obvious. Please stop spouting off about fakes being good. Regardless of what forum you are in. Theft of intellectual property and copyright infringement isn't OK.

I agree,I tried to make that clear. I'm just saying I feel like the bigger problem would be someone trying to pass something off as real when it is not. Not trying to defend the fakes or their makers. There's always going to be imitators out there especially if something is good enough to imitate. It's our responsibility to let them water down the market. I hope that makes sense.

Fact is that great designs and knives will always be copied. Not just knives. This applies to guns, watches and cars as well. Hell China even makes a copy of BMW's. These copies are cheap and may be good props but not something you would ever want to stake your livelihood on. I inherited a Rolex Submariner made in 1966 from my uncle. I got the watch in 1984. It was used and abused for almost 20 years before I got it. I abused it for another 15 years. I then traded it for car parts, my mistake of course. I then bought a cheap Rolex copy for $200. And that POS lasted less than 8 months. $200 down the drain. Lesson learned. You get what you pay for 99% of the time.

I'm surprised this topic doesn't come up more in here, or maybe it does and I just haven't seen it yet. There are so many copies of so many good blades it's ridiculous. that being said they really don't bother me, I don't think they're fooling any one.

that's not entirely the point...it's morally wrong as well as ILLEGAL to steal Busse Combat's designs & ideas whether they execute the counterfeit flawlessly or not...

To give a specific example of the crime, Busse's talonhole is property of Jerry Busse...and I'm betting those d-bags didn't have the express written, or implied, consent of Jerry to use it...

Furthermore, the maker (or at least the seller) attached Jerry's name to the listing...

AND they may not be fooling anyone for now, but they will get better at imitation if fed by $$$...

a lot of folks are carrying PM2 clones thinking they got a genuine Golden Colorado product in their pocket...that is until they send it in for W&R work

Not trying to beat a dead horse here, but sadly I have to concur. That's beside the point, however. It's never OK to buy stolen property . . . including intellectual property. The fact that people do it doesn't mean you and I should follow suit regardless of how well it's made or how much it costs.

Yep. I've actually seen it happen before. Believe me, the counterfeiters will copy ANYTHING they think they can make a buck on . . . including each other.

Ya I saw a cheap Team Gemini copy called the " Daryl redneck knife"... or something like that..
Just Googled it and saw the one you're talking about. Wow. The handle scales aren't quite right but they managed to really make it look like a TGLB.

I found the knife you speak of and sent Jerry an email about it a week ago.

I got a thanks buddy so I know Jerry is on the case
