Bad Shameless flippers

I'm a collector, just like you, and not just of knives. I buy for the love of what I collect. I've never flipped anything for profit and never will. Sorry if I came across as defending flippers. I am absolutely not. I despise them as much as everyone else. I'm simply pointing out that when demand far outstrips supply, flippers are inevitable. No matter how many people refuse to buy from them, someone will. If you want to kill flippers once and for all the makers have to raise prices or produce more.

My apologies, I misunderstood and got the wrong end of the stick. I will edit my post.

The price of collectables is about to plummet world wide. Anybody who has speculated on inflated priced items in the hope of inflating the price even more is going to be in for a spectacular shock in the next few weeks and months. This applies to knives, watches, cars, the lot.

I am a knife collector. I purchased my first custom at 17 some 38 years ago and I have continued collecting to this day.
While I am happy to say that my collection has risen in value it was never my goal to use it as a financial enrichment tool nor do I particularly care if it continues to rise. I love knives, it's why I collect and everything in my collection is precious to me.

Flippers however are only interested in profit, the quick return, and don't have any further investment in the hobby.

Flippers who are now holding knives bought at over-inflated prices using credit in the hope of a quick profit flip are in for a nasty shock in the next few months.
Watches, cars.......it's all going to plummet in value.

I hope you're right. I love the GEC 06's but they just aren't worth the $100.00 + they are asking on the secondary market.

Sellers are Free to charge whatever price they want.

When is too much though ? I expect this crap on eBay, not here.

If a certain knife dropped less than a week ago for $600 before taxes / shipping, and is being sold here for $1200 .. it’s ridiculous (unsolicited opinion, just venting/crying). People are amazing.

Looking at my post now, with the benefit of hindsight, shows how spectacularly wrong I was.😳

The solution to such avarice is not to support it. Don't let your lust for a particular knife overcome your good sense.

While I find such behavior reprehensible, (maybe that's too strong a word), I think it would be equally wrong for us to police what members "can" ask for a knife or other item for sale. There's a point where oversight becomes oppressive.

Know what something is worth to you and act accordingly is all I can suggest and recommend. Personally, I choose not to be a victim.

Well put 👍.

I was having more of a coffee fueled tantrum fit than anything else.

One of the many things I love about the forums, feedback, especially constructive.

hell there are folks in this thread that have bought knives on the exchange and tacked on a few extra bucks. so its like the pot calling the kettle black. just dont deal with them.
