Jeff Robinson paid just now:eek:;) after 25 days of emails and phone calls.
Thanks for paying Jeff

I want every one to know the real truth. The item that I payed for never arrived at my location.
The tracing number showed that It was delivered , but It never did arrive. Then i called the post
office and found out it was lost and uninsured. It is not very*responsible to sent out a package
without insuring it, and when it dos get lost or stolen expecting me to pay for it*any way. That's
not how it works. I would have responded sooner if I had known about this sooner. I think there is always two sides to ever issue.
I just wanted every one to know the real truth about what happen.*Thank you for your time.*

I guess the manner of shipping is somewhat up to the buyer as well mate, did you ask for insurance ? I make this consideration all the time when buying online, sometimes it is work the gamble but in al honesty I would probably NOT want it on a $25 sheath. Now the $700 worth of gear from Busse is another matter.

Just saying.

The item was delivered to an address you provided (business), I guess on a confirmed Del Conf. scan and then it came up missing because someone at your address of choice failed to place it in your hands?.......and that somehow makes it the maker's responsibility????

I have made a note of your name so that in the off chance you should ever try to buy anything from me, I will know what the appropriate action should be on my part.

People are just so ridiculous. Al's a great guy to work with. Regardless of that even-DELIVERED means DELIVERED. If its a company, the tracking from the shipping vendor(ups, fedex) will have a some sort of PDF or something on file with the actual signature for their own protection. Call and find out who the receiver was at co and then contact said person at company through your own complaint to the vendor. They may even do it for ya-call and verify it was received.

Who cares what you want? Insurance has nothing to do with the buyer. It is there for the seller to recover his money if the carrier fails to deliver the goods.

Whether or not the package was insured, the seller owes the buyer a new item or his money back if the original shipment did not arrive. Insurance means the carrier will pay for the failure, not the seller.

In this case, the seller got caught in a double trap, not rejecting gift PayPal, and sending to an address other than a confirmed PayPal address. Al won't make those mistakes again. I hope none of us do, either.

Of course, we realize this buyer is just a scammer.

me generally.... and I am not generally thin skinned but your attitude (as a forum representative) in addressing a polite response from me to the poster is a poor reflection.

All the best

Ed, my view is that the shipment DID arrive at the address chosen by the buyer according to USPS scans, thereby shifting the responsibility of delivery from seller to buyer. In other words, once the package arrives at the intended destination, the seller has kept his side of the bargain. If , after arrival the package goes missing while under the control of someone at that address , I fail to see where the seller had any responsibility for that. Other than that I agree with you.

To further speculate, had the seller insured the package and then under these circumstances, submitted a claim, I think USPS would deny the claim on the basis of proof of delivery at the address chosen by the buyer. There would have been a signature of the receiving individual maybe so , maybe no, depending on the insured value (black label), or pre authorization for the USPS carrier to sign for packages at that address given by someone in authority at that company, or some other odd thing I don't even know about.

And sorry to hear about these scams Al, it's a shame. Keep up your good work here on BF, you make some fine sheaths and have an honorable business. Karma is a B^*%& for these scammers.

If I ordered a sheath that didn't arrive, I would still want the sheath. I would not want a refund.

It is quite odd that a sheath arrives, disappears, and then the purchaser no longer wants the sheath. And by odd, you know what I mean.

Glad you got paid Al, but what is even more annoying is when someone enters into a deal and fails to hold up their end of the bargain. I cannot understand what it is with these people somehow try and jusatify their theft. It really is pathetic.

I agree with your assessment. Once the package is delivered to the buyer-requested address, it is up to the buyer. Lightning 75 needs to pay up.

Of course he needs to pay.

What I was pointing out is that PayPal has no record of his home address or business address. Payment was gift. Business address was not on file as a verified alternate. He scammed Al.

Shant, (Lightning 75) did receive my sheath.
He even said so. He said he found it in the mail room;) So now, the sheath is supposed to be on its way back to me.

He did do the charge back, and his credit card company charged my paypal an extra $20 for his charge back:confused:.

He finally admitted he received the sheath, because it was credit card fraud on the charge back, and lying, and saying you didn't receive a package from the USPS, when you actually did, is also a crime.

I was going to get the USPS postal inspector to talk to him, and I was going to call his credit card company too. If my sheath comes back, I will leave it alone.

I think he realized that his theivery was coming to an end. So he changed his story.

I should get my sheath back, but I will still be out the $20. Paypal has told me they are holding the funds and fighting his credit card company. They may get the funds back to me:) If they do, and I receive my sheath back, I will refund all except the xtra $20 that his credit card company charged me.

Too much of this happening, sometimes, we get a name, sometimes an address tied to the name, very rarely do we get to see the face of a scammer.

Shame on you Shant.

Al, you ARE annoying.

Good job! :D
I hope you are an inspiration to others to fight back against scammers.
