Schatt & Morgan Lockback Whittler

Jake,

Was wondering if you have a chance in the future if you could take a few pictures of the Schatt and Morgan showing the spine and also the well with the blades open and closed?

No problem Ken. I'll take some photos when it's light out. If you want to use the pattern, I'd be happy to loan my knife to you.

Jake,

Thanks on the offer but do not think that will be necessary but I am curious how Schatt and Morgan handled a few of the details.

No hurry on the extra pictures, when you have a chance.

I just picked up this little beauty, an S&M Series XIII #043299 Split-Back Whittler in Golden Age Jigged Bone, 3-5/8" OAL.
Excellent F&F, sharp blades, no rubs or scrapes of any kind and real nice walk & talk, built in 2003.

Camillus 72Y Yellow Jacket Whittler. Pretty nice little knife I picked up sometime around 1992.

This ones pretty unusual. It's a Keen Kutter split back in a gunstock pattern. About 3-5/8" with Ebony handles. I'm not sure when it was made but there aren't any Simmons Hrdwr. stampings. Can't find it listed in any of the books either. I've always thought it to be either very early or with the Ebony handles, possibly around WWI era. Without Hrdwr. stamping, maybe a contract knife? Blades have quite a bit of wear but still have plenty of walk and talk left in 'em. Rest of the knife's in pretty decent condition.
