Last night's backyard visitor. Somehow she (he?) climbed the fence without breaking it. The pole in the background is a bird feeder that was easily pushed over. Good thing I have neglected to fill it for a few days or the bear would have ripped it off the post and taken off with it again! This is one of the younger bears. The older ones have more scars.
 
Home Owner's Associations. Preferring residents get eaten rather than tolerating "ugly" fences since the dawn of entitled Karens.
We, like everyone else in an HOA, signed the legal agreement. Everything is spelled out before you move in. Entitled people are the first to whine about the rules they agreed to. That said, out HOA does not have a heavy hand. If anything, a little too light on some things.
 
Any fence that's strong enough and tall enough to keep them out will be too expensive or not allowed by the HOA. 300lbs to 450lbs bears pretty much go where they wish!
fences don't stop the florida black bears. those are the only bears I know and deal with. seen them go over an 8 ft fence like we step over speed bumps. didn't slow it at all.
