She is a stray - one of those trap-neuter-releases. Been out where I work for about 6 years or more. My Tom at home is extremely aggressive and hates any other creature - cats male or female, kitten, doesn't matter. I have access to a facility I have an extra-curricular function where I can keep her inside when it is not in use, otherwise she has to be on my job site.

It's two-way. She's kept me company out there for hours a day for about 5 of the 6 years - it took a whole year before she'd come close to me and let me touch her.

There are a few others where i live, at work, etc and I do what I can for them. Living in one of our largest cities there's so many of them around. Overwhelming and a little heartbreaking sometimes.

The best friend I could have ever asked for. We picked him out at 8 days old and he fit in the palm of my hand. We brought him home at 10 weeks. He was born Nov 15, 2013, opening day of deer season in Michigan (my birth home), so Hunter was a fitting name. This little dog has had a BIG job. Not only does Hunter have to chase all the squirrels, rabbit and "big birds" from our yard ... he is an unofficial service dog that provides comfort to my wife and me. Our little buddy had a medical issue about a year ago and we almost lost him. He had an auto-immunity disorder which has progressively took his eyesight away. During phases of his diagnosis, veterinarians prescribed several high dollar medications. I still have a medicine (26 of the 30 tablets) - docs changed treatments after blood cultures were received. If you know of anybody that has a need of pet medicine for "their best friends" to fight bacterial issues - DM me and I'll give it to them. If your dog, or other animal, is as much of a family member as Hunter is to us - you are a fortunate soul. 💜
