Shark!!!!! Lets see those Makos!

cool knives. Still pondering whether to get one, I do like the orange winterbottom bone ones
if it is not a thread derailer, does anyone have some comparisons of an original fishtail knife upon which it is based?

This might be one of GEC's least anticipated knives before their release. I know I glossed over all the pre-production information completely just as others have indicated they have. But now that they're out and about! Nice job GEC. And props to you for taking chances releasing interesting patterns like this one.

I really did not think I would like this pattern but I really want the 63 with Jigged acrylic handles. It would make an awesome fishing knife. The chestnut looks pretty sweet too.

Mine finally came today and wow I'm really blown away by this one! I went from hating pretty much everything about this knife when I first saw GEC's sketch on paper to loving this knife. :) I wouldn't normally like a knife this long but it's so thin and fits in my KSF leather pocket sleeve perfectly so it wont carry any different than any of my other knives that I would normally carry with that sleeve. The fit and finish is perfect on it and to be honest I haven't heard anybody complain yet about getting one with a single "flaw". Will try to get some better pictures with more natural lighting when I can but this is what I was able to take while at work.

Thanks a whole lot Jake, just caused me to spend more money. That yellow rose is beautiful and unique.

This place is good for that! Glad I could help you spend your money. :) Hope you like yours as much as I'm enjoying mine. They really are a cool knife.

Having had very little time to visit the forums lately, I've been pretty far out of the loop, as far as keeping up with new releases, etc. This afternoon (not minutes ago), I accidentally stumbled across a photo of one of these, and did a double-take. Do my eyes deceive me?? Is that.... Could it be.....???
I've always been a fan of the fishtail pattern, and a high-quality version coming from GEC is right up my alley. Couldn't help myself; not even 5 minutes passed after I saw the photo (Thanks, Lemmy.... ;) ), but I had to order one in ebony. Very psyched! :D

I posted a mini review of the #63 Templar in 'let's talk gec' yesterday, but just saw this dedicated picture thread. Here's the pics then!

I like the knife quite a bit but I have large hands and the tail on the Templar is very sharp. If I choke up on the handle it's okay, but I view this one as more of a collector piece. I really like that American chestnut though!

Ouch!!

Call me a tasteless moron but I reckon the chestnuts would look pretty good with that templar furniture on board.
Reaalyy good.
Just waiting for my blackwater to turn up.
cheers.

That blackwater bone was in my sights, it was tough. I agree, chestnut with the Templar trim would look handsome.

This one has the look of the sea about it. Knife budget has been scuttled.

In this picture Ferdinand Magellan uses the newly developed roach clip and hallucinates about a giant knife.
The fish look nervous.

Nice choice Meako, if I hadn't already owned two.....the blue looks classic.

I was thinking kind of the same thing but with the ebony. Either would be great.

Received my Yellow Rose, only yellow knife I own and it is a beauty, just love how these feel in the hand.
