More great work as always Coop!

Looking forward to your next series of pics...

Back in the saddle again...

I've been WAYYY busy since my return from vacation, and I've still got some work left to shoot in my studio. Some you've seen, some you haven't, and some you haven't seen from ME.

Here's what's been happening in the past couple of weeks:

Ron Best with a lapis & gold pointy auto
orig.jpg

Cliff Parker's tantalizing gold & mammoth gent's folder
orig.jpg

Bruce Bump's been working overtime this year...
orig.jpg

orig.jpg

...as has been Jason Knight. Expect this to appear once again at the end of the year. ;)

Continued....

Schuyler Lovestrand collaborated with his daughter Lauria Trout to present this magnificent piece.

Levi Graham appeals to a niche market, and has a LOT of appeal!
orig.jpg

Chad Nell takes the R.W. Loveless style and always adds the finest of handle materials.
orig.jpg

orig.jpg

Steve Nuckels doesn't produce many knives, but when he does we take notice. No wonder Steve is on the Board of Directors for the Moran Museum and Foundation
orig.jpg

(Makers/Collectors: If any of these unseen knives make it into their OWN thread, I'd be that much happier!)

Thanks for viewing.

Mr. Cooper, beautiful images as always!

Jason's Khuk is over the top and Levi's Frontier is remarkable!

Thanks for giving me a share of your talent and skill.

Coop,

I've been looking at that Knight Khukuri since Joe first posted it, but it has never been done justice until now. That's really spectacular. The Damascus is alive.

Thanks Coop! Just saw this thread for the first time... I'm a little slow ha

Thanks for the complement Steve. I love your piece as well that is one detailed handle!! Take care

Don Hanson III, MS (DH3) Outstanding!

Don and his son, Kyle Hanson are working together. :)

Greg Shahan, JS has a VERY attractive knife here.

As does Charles Vestal with his RWL 'Big Bear' version.

Occasionally I take my camera out of my studio. You may remember this shot? A few years ago I took it to a local Classic Car Show and shot my Grandfather-in-Law after winning his class. He drives it there and he's 95 yrs old! This car is NOT Concours quality and he wouldn't want it if it was. It's an EDC. ;)

orig.jpg

Since then, that show stopped running and they've created a second show in his honor. It's growing like mad in this area. I submitted this shot and text as a poster, and they are going to use it for that and the program cover.

See you there!

Terrific lines on that Shahan fighter. Some serious talent among the current ranks of journeyman smiths.

Coming up is a sampling of the portfolio shots which makers have delivered to me. I am fortunate to have such a wide base of supporters...

I combined some guidelines in this post with one in a previous post. BOTH deserve your attention if you are into good quality imagery; from me, or done yourself, or by others.

Thanks for reading and understanding.

Look at this fantastic work by Scott MacCaughtry, JS:

Barry Lee Hands takes the pinnacle men's Lake pocket folder and makes it the ultimate men's pocket folder.
orig.jpg

Ron Best is so talented in his folders. Wonderful lines.
orig.jpg

We rarely see the extraordinary knives of Canadian artist Jose DeBraga. This one went from Canada to me and then to a top collector overseas. This was quite the project to shoot!
orig.jpg

orig.jpg

He included a little miniature for the client. About two inches long...
orig.jpg

I loved shooting this powerful Lon Humphrey Bowie.
orig.jpg

CJ Cai comes into this thread often. Crazy thematic pieces. The top Kious 'pocket locket' folder is all about Leonardo Davinci..
orig.jpg

And the bottom one is all about King Arthur and Lancelot.
orig.jpg

Another JS who is studying hard to venture into the highest levels. David Loukides.
orig.jpg

orig.jpg

Showing how well he can proceed is Derrick Wulf, JS. (I love that turn of century font!)

Thanks for viewing!

some real stunners in that last group, Coop. Both the knives, and the photographic representations of them. Those Cai/Kious folders have so much going on, it's tough to tell the story in one image. Well done.

Coop,
Your photos are a joy for eyes and souls!
They being us a story told with material, ancient and new, craftsmanship and passion.
In a few second you collapse in a photo hours and hours of works, from the knifemaker, the engraver etc.
You let us See masterpieces that otherwise cannot be seen worldwide.
Beyond the due thanks, I can add only a word:
BRAVO!!!

Alessio

Coop, fantastic images of some fantastic work! So many inspirational pieces.
Cheers Keith

Define the 'first picture'.

First in the entire thread or first on this page, or....? (Ron Best is first on this page).

Welcome.

Jim

Coop - your post #391 above is so right on. Images can have immense power and photographers surely want to see that power channelled into its best and highest use. It's about the knife, and who made the knife. That's the story made real by the image. The image is 'signed' by the photographer - that's fair and that's enough.
Your work is beautiful as always.

Wow. Thanks Buddy. That's a powerful statement:

"Images can have immense power and photographers surely want to see that power channelled into its best and highest use. It's about the knife, and who made the knife. That's the story made real by the image."

Wonderful observation.

I'm posting a gaggle of images over on the next page...
