Sharpening drives me crazy.

Not sure I follow you here ? A polished well dressed edge lasts for a very short time, a toothy less refined edge cuts for ever. I'm a big fan of the toothy edge my self because it just cuts, cuts and cuts.

I use a blue DMT stone and a piece of leather with green compound. I can get the knife back to popping hair and easily slicing light weight paper in literally a couple of minutes. :)

I agree. The toothy edge lasts longer for me.

Murray Carter's stropping system seems to work. This involves lightly running, (just using the weight of the knife - no additional pressure), the blade edge on a piece of soft wood to remove the burr during stropping. Sure one can find photos/vids online. Amazing what leather, with or without compound, can help to sharpen that blade edge...Cheers.

I'm also in the camp of reprofiling "some" of my CRKs. A have two older Classics that I can touch up directly on a SM. Both my Insingos required a reprofile before the SM at 40 degrees would touch the edge. I have both an Edge Pro and Wicked Edge that I reprofile with but for quick touch-ups I always go to my SM for a quick few micro-bevel swipes to bring back a working edge that will shave. Anything more polished than that is a waste of time since I look at CRKs as the modern day 1095 steel. Easy to touch up but pretty bad at holding a shaving sharp edge.
