I was just thinking that. Long lasting steel is an option. But harder to sharpenI carry something with S90V under the hood. They always survive the trip!
A whole sharpening system? Uh, no, I want to have fun on vacation. I just take a little pocket hone.Does anyone take a sharpening system on vacation? Or do you know use the knife enough to have to sharpen it?

That more along the lines I was thinking. Not a huge Wicked Edge thing hahaI’ve taken the Sharpmaker (if that’s considered a system)
Dangit. I should not have clicked on that link. Now I want one.I bought the Baryonyx pocket stone and it’s the new thing I’m bringing when I’ll be gone for a week or using my knives frequently.
Heck, I use it at home to practice with it and it does a bang up job. For 7 bucks you can’t beat it.

I will be getting several more stones from there. I got an American Mutt bench stone on a whim, which is recycled grit and supposedly finicky to maintain by virtue of its uncommon recycled composition, but I’ve had really good experiences so far.Dangit.
