sharpening

KME sharpeners. Best guide system around.

Made in the USA 100% and for a fairly reasonable price. Sharpens everything from 2" blade to a 9" blade. I been using it for a year, and I won't have anything else.

I also have a myriad of Norton stones as well, but he KME gets used so much more.

Moose

Hey Moose which one of those do you have? The diamond or the standard? I've been looking to upgrade and this might just be the one i get. Would you mind emailin me some thoughts about it? And I hate asking but could you include the whole Lansky thing?

U should consider mouspad and sandpaper, I knew very little and had no experiance at all just read a whole lot and chose it was a cheap method that really made sense it isn't difficult nor expensive I convexed and sharpened my bk2 the 2nd day I got it and it turned out really nice and very sharp and to me I think its a bit more forgiving if u can't hold constant angle thanks to the give. Hope u find what suits u .

Ok, Moose could you please forward the Lansky story to me as well?

I really have nothing else to add as I suck at sharpening knives as well. But I just got a Norton combination fine/medium stone. So, i'm hoping that changes.

Just looking at the KME. It looks like you just rest the stone on the edge of the blade and slide?

Due to some oddities I can't use the Sharpmaker. I can't keep the blade straight so I need a guided one. I think this will work for me.

the work sharp knife and tool sharpener is nice just got one and put a razor edge on a butter knife
